Coffee

I drink a cup of coffee every morning. No one in this thread would approve of the coffee I drink. It would not meet their exacting standards. Fortunately, their coffee opinions are irrelevant to my life. Tomorrow morning I will enjoy my wretched and clownishly bad coffee, as I do every morning. Life is good.

I am definitely off my coffee game lately but I just ran an errand for a friend to pick up some beans. Got some medium roast Uganda beans, smell really good, might have to steal some.

Coffee log for the day:

Breakfast: Starbucks via Colombian
Late morning: good cap at the brunch place where I waited for my flat to be fixed. They had an awesome looking Astoria manual machine and used some brand called grammercy park.
Afternoon: no cof available so I had one of those Starbucks doubleshot canned thingies, not so bad.

picked up some really great South American cof this weekend but can't remember the name/country and it's not on the roaster's website but it's good, i assure you

Ran out of cof yesterday because I didn't take a pound out of the freezer in time. Local roaster's beans that weren't even that fresh were $15/12 oz at Whole Foods. Fuck that noise.

but still cheaper than buying a cup of cof every day

had McD's coffee this morning. i thought they had upped their game with the whole McCafe concept but it was 70s diner cof to be sure

McDonald's coffee can actually be way above average imo, I much prefer it to Dunkin. But I've found that they often over-cream and over-sugar it, and it's already a pretty mild coffee so that can indeed make it taste like diner coffee and kill the taste.

Dunkin seems to be very divisive. I love it.

i need to get some good beans. i was trying to rough it with bustelo to save money but i just ended up getting coffee out.

dunkin is completely serviceable imo but i am a cof dilettante

v much agree. Starbucks' inability to make and serve a drinkable drip coffee is baffling. They used to sometimes have blends that were ok, I don't remember which ones but the one near my college campus rotated coffees a lot and sometimes it was good.

I remember Starbucks having perfectly fine drip coffee circa 1989, though I don't recall sampling it any time in the past two decades-plus. Sells to a difference audience now. Dunkin Donuts drinkers, maybe?

man alive i was gonna red flag yr coffee digest yesterday for casually mentioning an AM java @ starbucks & instead didn't post so as not to just be an asshole jiving a guy just needing an honest sleepy sip of fine brown cof. why are you starbucksing when you know it is of putrid renown #???

i just got black cold drip at my place, with a few ice cubes and good god it was delicious. like coffee whiskey or something.

It is impossible to get not terrible coffee on my way to work. There's coffee, but it's just a way of getting caffeinated. I've resigned myself to DD's which I think is the best of the bunch.
