I don't know the postcode, but it is Streetmapped Here...

(If anyone wants to use this to stalk me, you're out of luck coz I don't actually live there, ha ha!)

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:49 (twenty-one years ago)

yeah, more like lunchtime for me, probably. 1 is a safe bet, but i'll text you in the am when i'm about. you guys can feel free to make plans earlier and i can join you when i get there, i'm sure we'll be able to find each other.

(although i do want to go to that shoe shop, as long as i'm going to hackney)

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:55 (twenty-one years ago)

1pm or a bit earlier sounds good.

Pink - I'm not, wish I was. :(

Am dead envious of your glittery nailpolish, too. (even if I have no nails to speak of at the moment. damn elections making me twitchy.)

cis (cis), Friday, 11 June 2004 11:57 (twenty-one years ago)

Damn! According to the map, Broadway Market looks MILES away from where I am. I have grown spoiled by central London, or am I reading the wrong scale on the map? I will get up early and go to Primark before the queues. I need flirty summer dresses.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

ah, now i remember what else i'd been thinking about doing tomorrow...

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:01 (twenty-one years ago)

Oh wait, no, I'm being dumb, I misunderstood the scale of the map. I didn't realise London Fields was so close to where I am!

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:02 (twenty-one years ago)

x-post... for a moment, I thought that the Duke of Bedford's private garden was open to the public, and thought with joy of the amount of noise Joe would have to endure, but unfortunately, that is not the case, it's just Russell Square.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:05 (twenty-one years ago)

The market is walkable from Hackney Central. Just the other side of London Fields.

Alternatively, jump on a bus down Mare Street heading East. Get off just after it crosses the Grand Union Canal.

I can confirm I am not Dave's girlfriend.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:08 (twenty-one years ago)

heading East

East? East? Mental! South, surely...

Canal bit's right tho.

CharlieNo4 (Charlie), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:14 (twenty-one years ago)

You're right, south.

Just, er, testing.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:16 (twenty-one years ago)

So any plans for a fap in July? I am missing faps. :-( Anyone want to fap in lovely cambridge?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Name the date, and I've already said I'll FAP in Cambridge!

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Well you keep saying you'll fap in cambridge, I mean I've already got the bed/room ready for ya!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

i want to come to cambridge as well. i could do the last two weekends in july. the middle two are sucked up by my parents visiting. yeehaw.

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:45 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm pretty free in July, so whatever's cool with everyone else. I know there was s'posed to be a big cambridge fap, but can't remember when ppl wanted to do this.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:49 (twenty-one years ago)

The last two weekends in July are BLANK in my diary. Pick one, my dear, and we'll all ink it in and refuse to allow any other plans.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:55 (twenty-one years ago)

What about the 31st then, it's certainly when I get paid.

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 12:59 (twenty-one years ago)

Spiritualized are playing at the RFH the next day... though if I don't get *too* ratted, it would be nice to be sitting in the RFH drifting gently with a mild hangover and good feeling...

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:02 (twenty-one years ago)

I approve of the Dove (but can't make it unfortunately).

Pete (Pete), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:04 (twenty-one years ago)

31st works for me (24th does as well, but maybe it'll be nice to have a weekend without obligations)

should i put it in my diary?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:17 (twenty-one years ago)

Should we wait til nearer the time, so that more ppl could make it? I know Matt & stevem et al wanted to come down to cambridge!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:19 (twenty-one years ago)

Please, let's NOT wait till nearer the time this time? Because that's how my time gets eaten up with other obligations! OK, fair enough, it was usually Joe making those other obligations without telling me, but advance warning is better in these things.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:27 (twenty-one years ago)

sorry i'm not going to make it - however, if you get up early and fancy making a journey across london, i would still be happy for you to stalk me.

Dave Stelfox (Dave Stelfox), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:28 (twenty-one years ago)

Well then start a thread about it kate, but i am sure it will be lost this early. Don't worry i'll remind you!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:30 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm not coming either, but I will be shopping at Broadway Market in the morning if you get bored of stalking Dave.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:35 (twenty-one years ago)

You should start the thread, Pink! It's your FAP, and besides, I've started, like, three threads today! The key to it not disappearing, I think, is having Stevem put it on the ILX calendar.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Now I'm confused. Coming where? We're not about the stalking, we're all about the SHOPPING.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:36 (twenty-one years ago)

No it's not my fap, I just want y'all to come punting in cambridge!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:43 (twenty-one years ago)

You don't come to Hackney to shop. It simply isn't tolerated.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:46 (twenty-one years ago)

We shall be iconclasts, then. Or possibly chased out of town by irate locals.

cis (cis), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

No, we will just be hit about the head and shoulders by locals in the Primark for scoring the good bargains first!

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:51 (twenty-one years ago)

I also wonder if I should buy a laundry basket. I'm under the bizarre delusion that a laundry basket might help save my marriage.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:52 (twenty-one years ago)

Indeed!

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Friday, 11 June 2004 13:56 (twenty-one years ago)

Good choice. When my girlfriend annoys me, that's where I put her.

Mikey G (Mikey G), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:08 (twenty-one years ago)

Can we wait until Monday to set a date for the Cambridge FAP (this MUST involve punting)?

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

i think we should put the date in our diaries, start a thread, and stick to the date. if all else fails, we can have a small trip to cambridge. otherwise, we can maybe have a decent sized-fap. weekends do tend to get booked up ages in advance, if we book it now then people can plan ahead...

kate, what's with the laundry basket?

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, towards the end of July, the evil spectre of TRIG BROTHER will be rearing its ugly runious head. Best to keep that in mind...

Matt DC (Matt DC), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't use a laundry basket. I floorganise clothes like my mum taught me. Dirty stuff on the floor in a pile, clean just out of the washing machine clothes in the closet, and stuff you've worn once but could probably get away with wearing again draped over the back of random chairs.

Several times Joe has got on my case about cleaning up the bedroom, and I've explained to him about floorganising. It was one of the things he brought up in our huge blowout fight. You know, it's not *that* big a deal. I prefer to floorganise, but if it takes getting a laundry basket like him to save our marriage, I'd do it.

(Though I suspect that the laundry basket is just one more symptom, I don't know, he just wants *everything* I do to be the way he says, so I get passive aggressive about little things I can control, like what I do with my laundry.)

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:18 (twenty-one years ago)

kate, you need the laundry rug:

http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=665&PHPSESSID=e0843fbed5616e5fca3f08e25338bd82

colette (a2lette), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:23 (twenty-one years ago)

No, no, he doesn't care if they're washed, it's not a hassle doing it. I just like them on the floor and he likes them in a basket; a rug would not be a solution.

(One of the solutions would be HIM GETTING HIS CLOTHES OUT OF THE WASHING MACHINE WHEN THEY'RE DONE, INSTEAD OF LETTING THEM SIT THERE FOR DAYS, SO I CAN ALSO USE THE WASHING MACHINE but that is a particular pet peeve of mine.)

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 14:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm in a pissy mood now, so I think I'm going to try to walk back to Hackney. Wow, it looks like a long way, how long before I give up and take the bus. Cis, Colette, message me when you're on your way. Anyone else who wants to be stalked, email me your mobile number and we will make arrangements. I'm not unpopular, I'm just exclusive. Hah.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Friday, 11 June 2004 15:25 (twenty-one years ago)

I'm going with some friends to the LIFT fireworks extravaganza in Victoria Park on Saturday evening. More info: www.liftfest.org and look for lift 2004, groupe f. The plan is to be in The Crown from 7pm ish and then move into Vic Park for a picnic and then fireworks.

Daniel (dancity), Friday, 11 June 2004 22:48 (twenty-one years ago)

Hmmm. I'm not sure we're still going to be out drinking that late. We have however just finished with Primark (ohmigod, spent too much money but too cute clothes) and are now heading down to Broadway Market if anyone would like to join us in the Pub!

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Saturday, 12 June 2004 12:10 (twenty-one years ago)

Heh heh. Spent most of the afternoon sitting in the sun/cloud/sun/cloud/no, so again, discussing whether or not the various cute boys that passed by highlighted their hair or if it was natural. It's nice to know I still have a libido.

Then I walked to Hackney Marsh. What a strange, beautiful, godforsaken sort of place. It was totally deserted. I can't remember the last time I saw a space that large so empty of people in London. And the River Lea on one side the Lee River Naviation on the other. Lee and Lea in perfect harmoneeeeee. Hackney looks like it was once very beautiful. Especially Sutton House and Sutton Place.

Possibly Kate Again (kate), Saturday, 12 June 2004 18:07 (twenty-one years ago)

Oooh! I'm in Sutton Place right now. What a small world

James Mitchell (James Mitchell), Sunday, 13 June 2004 16:36 (twenty-one years ago)

Do you live in Sutton Place? You lucky dog! (unless you have some kind of mobile connection.) It's really lovely! The spooky churchyard with no church left seemed to be like a corridor through another time. The sort of place where you're not sure if you're going to encounter a modern crack dealer or an 18th Century grave robber.

Apostrophe Catastrophe (kate), Monday, 14 June 2004 07:46 (twenty-one years ago)

So what did you buy K?

Pinkpanther (Pinkpanther), Monday, 14 June 2004 08:12 (twenty-one years ago)

and now matt dc should be prepared to set a date for the cambridge FAP...

colette (a2lette), Monday, 14 June 2004 08:13 (twenty-one years ago)

I knew you were going to ask that, Pink! I was about to write you an email about it. I bought two pairs of very plain work trousers, one in blue, one in black. A couple of flirty, stripey, button-down summer shirts, and, on Colette's provocation a rather tight and possibly sexy pale blue tank-top/vest/wifebeater thing which I was VERY uncertain of due to Fear Of Log-Arm but which actually made Joe run up and start humping my leg like a dog when I came home wearing it. So there you go.

x-post, Colette, are you going to share your Primark purchases with the class? ;-)

Apostrophe Catastrophe (kate), Monday, 14 June 2004 08:16 (twenty-one years ago)

sure, but they weren't very interesting. about 6 or 7 tshirts (i'm wearing the only crew-neck one today, in a bright pale teal, if that makes any sense), 6 pairs of socks, 2 vests, a 3-pack of pants and 2 bra/pant sets.

i really love that store.

kate's stripey shirts are cool, and she bought clothes in color! wow!
