^^Yeah! I never saw "Louie" but this new thing seems worth a watch.

Mentioned it on the Wire thread - the David Simon one from last week is good.

This Julia L-D episode is excruciating, but I'm making myself listen to the whole thing

Honestly can't stomach her music at all, but I'll be interested to hear from her.

I love her music, but I had to turn the interview off after Maron tells her about how he found a youtube video where a guy taught him how to play The Boxer on guitar because he wanted to learn fingerstyle

Yes, that episode was excellent. I've never much enjoyed Anderson as a comic, but as an interview guest with great stories and an interesting life, he was superb.

They just pick at each other the entire time without ever really getting into any legit conversation about anything. Not sure why he even posted it.

I think he's got a deal with Netflix to do interviews that focus on a new show (with Handler, Aziz, etc.).

The JLD interview was interesting in that he seemed to have provided a few moments where she could have mentioned that her dad was a billionaire but evaded it maybe.

I actually bailed on Neil 20 minutes in and skipped to Louie, no regrets

nothing too exciting in the neil interview, but it was perfectly listenable, neil seemed generally into it.

I wouldn't even say that the Neil interview sucked, it was just a dynamic that I couldn't deal with as my work day started: Neil trying to remember and elucidate things, Marc leaning on him a bit to move the story forward, etc. Gotta be in the mood for that.

And as a sucker for WTF comedian interviews, I loved the Louie interview. To each their own, I guess.

(Also this was the first time I'd ever listened to anyone interview Neil - previously I'd just read his print interviews.)

There's a part of the last Louis interview where Maron is at least covering his ass if any allegations come out -- something like "So you've got an interesting relationship with women, huh?" Similar to what he did in his Fred Armisen interview.

^^Yeah, that was weird - Maron kinda raising his eyebrow, like "hey, you know and I know that people are saying some stuff about you out there, and here's your chance to respond if you're up for that."

I think it's important to believe survivors' allegations of assault or harassment, but until someone has come forward with said claims against Louis CK, this kind of rhetoric seems mostly about posters declaring their own righteousness.

Oh fuck off I just think everything CK does is bored and overrated, and listening to Maron slobber over his gritty bar show is snore city

Acknowledging the existence of actual claims against actual celebrities ain't righteousness.

Really hoping Marc becomes a big Pono-head after Neil leaves one behind for him.

The Amber Tozer ep might be the most boring I've listened to.

I enjoyed the Louie Anderson one from a few weeks ago.

James L. Brooks is good so far, but his monologue intro is maybe the most excruciating ever,

John Carpenter/Joe Dante ep was great.

I don't really listen to this anymore, but, for some reason, I recently checked out the one with the very earnest Paul Dano. It was lifeless; Marc so uninterested, Dano so uninteresting.

Tozer ep was like a half hearted attempt at an old school WTF, with lots of Sobriety talk and "you don't remember making out with me?" Maron history

Yeah, the Dano one beats the Tozer one in terms of sheer boringness. Yeesh.

I liked the Tozer episode and her tales about being a craigslist mattress saleswoman
