Thanks for the info! Did you get an advance view of next week's episode or something?

― Tuomas, 15. huhtikuuta 2016 11:36 Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

nope but I watched this week's episode

― conrad, 15. huhtikuuta 2016 11:42 Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

Okay, interesting. The version I saw must've missed a scene where they confirmed those things, gotta send some email to Netflix Nordic about this.

In the Benelux version you see Hector shoot the good samaritan.

From the Better Call Saul thread, I guess it doesn't make sense if you don't watch that show.

Tuomas, Friday, 15 April 2016 11:02 (ten years ago)

i like how your timestamps make it look like everyone's 15 years old and writing into a magazine

IMO the European way of writing dates like DAY/MONTH/YEAR is completely logical: from the smallest unit to the largest. The American ways of starting with the second smallest, then the smallest, then the largest, is weird. Though I guess there's some explanation to it that has to do with some filing system?

Tuomas, Friday, 15 April 2016 14:21 (ten years ago)

I think it's the period after the day part that makes it confusing

μpright mammal (mh), Friday, 15 April 2016 14:22 (ten years ago)

Ah, okay. So in the English-speaking countries you can't writer "fifteenth" as "15."? In here adding the period after a number means that it's an ordinal number.

Tuomas, Friday, 15 April 2016 14:25 (ten years ago)

You know, I think I learned that in high school German but promptly forgot it and thought it was just a weird stylistic quirk

i like to trump and i am crazy (DJP), Friday, 15 April 2016 14:28 (ten years ago)

huhtikuuta is also a lovely word.

The period also makes sense, instead of going 1st 2nd 3rd 4th it's just 1. 2. 3. Easy peasy.

Europe is always right with these things. The metric system, people. How many pounds does a cubic foot of water weigh? Huh?

Frederik B, Friday, 15 April 2016 14:29 (ten years ago)

62.4 pounds

μpright mammal (mh), Friday, 15 April 2016 14:33 (ten years ago)

a quart of water is about two pounds, pretty easy to remember

μpright mammal (mh), Friday, 15 April 2016 14:34 (ten years ago)

All my references to weights and measures on ILX from now on will be exclusively in IMPERIAL units, just to annoy Frederik.

The only acceptable way to write a date is ISO 8601 format, eg 2016-04-15.

yeah! I didn't know how the date format worked there before, it is cool (but it did confuse me at first... when I see "NAME, NUMBER." I think age e.g. "Will, 12."

The only acceptable way to write a date is ISO 8601 format, eg 2016-04-15.

By "this is what I'm talking about" i don't mean I was literally talking about it. I was just saying OTM.

I don't mind the American, etc. way of setting the date. Kind of a in a Section II, Paragraph 3 of the Document sorta way.

It always bothers me when people don't pronounce Casablanca with the long 'a' in every syllable as intended.
