I am so pissed off about robbie's diana vreeland, it was such a failed opportunity. there are a couple key elements to the look and he didnt get a single one of them, you could not have even guessed who he was trying to be. and worse he was boring!!! diana vreeland was a grandiose maniac and all you could give us is "im an old fashion magazine lady." go home robbie, you didnt even rouge your ears!!!!

also his wigs and makeup are consistently awful and i just want him to go already

Kim Chi looks great but she's a (barely) walking instagram profile. Looks great, but no chops otherwise.

Yeah, sweetly second tier, but still just that. More interesting flashes have been coming out but she's been quietly coasting all this time since her early win.

hey i'll be more than happy to be proven wrong! but there's always a bit of deliberate casting and that goes into selecting the top 3, we know this.

i thought robbie's runway look was really creative especially in the wake of the kimono tsunami. i generally like her on the runway at least in the context of this season which hasn't had a lot of... whimsy on the runway. pretty much all the queens are self-serious this year so i find her appealingly disarming. she's pretty boxed in as a performer tho.

i think the top three is clearly bob, thorgy & kim chi. kim chi always slays on the runway her walking aside (rupaul's little "you better kim chi that walk" riff from the second episode still bounces around my head in idle moments) and i was impressed by her snatch game performance. she def isn't on thorgy or bob's level as a performer but she's good enough in that realm that it won't drag any of her looks down, which are usually very on point.

i'm rooting hard for chi chi but her runway looks are usually pretty tasteless and not in a good way. even her boob cone madonna was kinda... off. she always looks sexy as fuck regardless but i feel like she's perpetually one look away from being in the bottom regardless of her main challenge performance. the only thing is that as we saw in the new wave episode she can lip sync anyone off the stage so that might get her into the top 3.

acid betty's interviews in this episode really were pretty sad. there was that whole bit about how she feels like a lonely outcast but she never connected it back to the fact that she's appears to be a huge bitch to work with, and proud of it. (maybe that characterization is an editing thing but if she really has very few friends in drag that's probably why.)

bob is quite easily one of my fav queens ever on the show, maybe my second favorite after bianca or third favorite after alaska

in betty's whatcha packin interview with michelle, she reveals that her mom was a former dancer that battled hodgkins disease most of her life; really heartbreaking even in the few details she gave

i dont blame anyone for judging her harshly, her armor is definitely a choice... but damn i wish she could have fought against that instinct

I did like how Michelle had some very kind and supportive #realtalk with her about not being so hostile all the time

Alright, I'm not completely over Betty being only Top 8 and the whole Madonna fiasco but I liked this week's episode. Lots of funny stuff in the workroom and on the judges' pannel.
Although I think we can agree that Chichi wasn't put in the bottom so that Britney wouldn't be sent home... They are giving her a redemption arc aren't they?

I'm hoping that they're giving Chi Chi the Adore arc and she makes top 3, and Derek is there to provide drama.

I think Chichi will make it, but her Dorothy made no sense and deserved bottom imo

now i have this like horrible realization of what if derrick who is clearly SO AWFUl just like happens to be really good at lip syncing and will slay ppl clearly better than him in every other way?

has this ever happened in RPDR history? like really worthless ppl who just happen to be great at lip syncing and keep hanging on long after they should be gone?

though i feel like i've seen ppl basically just get sent home after their third consecutive lip sync

that lip sync was incredible. chi chi has to be one of the best lip syncers in the history of the show.

Chi Chi is IMO a lock for top 3 now for sending Thorgy home.

Chichi was fantastic, but I was sad to see Thorgy go home for sure. It doesn't make sense that Derrick outlasted her.

Kimchi crying with the sad mime make-up was both heartbreaking and beautiful.

Fuckin Derrick. I can't remember the last time I was so happy to see a queen go home. jfc. I'm still laughing at her "Daddy Does Drag" eyebrows etc. KimChi nailed it, you're going on Drag Race, and maybe BEFORE the show starts filming you might wanna practice carving your face and not like, an hour hour before runway.

I swear, she acted like she'd never seen the show. She knows what's expected of the queens, but somehow she thought all of that wouldn't apply to her because she's so 'on point' that everyone would just fall on the floor drooling and push the crown in her general direction. The level of her delusion was front & center in today's untucked episode. Like she's standing there in a corset that looks like a handmade birthday card next to Kimchi and Naomi and Chichi and it's like BITCH OF COURSE YOU'RE ON THE BOTTOM. LOOK AT YOURSELF.

Her britney is on point but everything else about her works my last nerve and I am glad to see her go. UGH.

I seriously can't with her. I just fucking cant.

Meanwhile BOB with the lipsync this week made me pretty happy.

This season has been so amazing (like what season 5 could've been if Roxxxy hadn't gone on her Jinkx Jihad) -- even with Derrick being the villain, he does have depths and pathos that I could empathize with (though by the end I had to stare at his chin because looking at the rest of his makeup made me cry).

Something really sad though was that in the photo of Kim's mom, they blurred out her face, which means that she didn't sign a waiver to have her likeness appear on the show. Damn.
