― reggae mike love (polyphonic), Thursday, 31 March 2016 20:58 (ten years ago)
read below the wine photo
― F♯ A♯ (∞), Thursday, 31 March 2016 20:59 (ten years ago)
ah passed over that as I am not in the habit of reading apparent captions to photos of wine
― Οὖτις, Thursday, 31 March 2016 21:00 (ten years ago)
it's april 1 in other time zones
― just1n3, Thursday, 31 March 2016 21:04 (ten years ago)
Kale slaw in a bag, w/ three smaller packets inside: cranberries, sunflower seeds, and dressing. Really good.
― Hadrian VIII, Friday, 1 April 2016 11:18 (ten years ago)
We get that all the time.
― Jeff, Friday, 1 April 2016 11:27 (ten years ago)
It goes kinda fast, but damn.
― Hadrian VIII, Friday, 1 April 2016 11:31 (ten years ago)
They've got paella now! (Product of France, iirc.) Pretty good and a nice, easy lunch, especially for $5.
― Josh in Chicago, Monday, 11 April 2016 17:39 (ten years ago)
I overheard that trader joe's just suspended/took off the shelves a TON of different things due to quality issues, has anyone been recently? I'm going today, I need chips/guac/pico so those better not be missing...
― musically, Saturday, 30 April 2016 16:30 (ten years ago)
They're always shifting stock around, changing sourcing, etc.
― Josh in Chicago, Saturday, 30 April 2016 16:52 (ten years ago)
I still weep about the large stoppered bottles of ginger beer that got recalled. Their newsletter claims they have it back in normal-sized bottles
― μpright mammal (mh), Saturday, 30 April 2016 16:55 (ten years ago)
Of course but they usually don't pull things off the shelves and trash them during that process...
― musically, Saturday, 30 April 2016 16:58 (ten years ago)
They have their own house brand of ginger beer now...I prefer reed's though since it's a little sweeter, but theirs is good too.
― musically, Saturday, 30 April 2016 16:59 (ten years ago)
I was pretty hopeful for the TJs ginger beer but Reed's is def better. Bundaberg's even better but I have to go to another store for that shit.
― Arch Godliness of Purplefull Magic (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Saturday, 30 April 2016 19:35 (ten years ago)
costco has bundaberg's but i have been resisting it the last couple trips
i drink it all way too quickly and it just tastes too good with alcohol
― μpright mammal (mh), Saturday, 30 April 2016 19:36 (ten years ago)
― μpright mammal (mh), Saturday, April 30, 2016 12:36 PM (1 minute ago)
so otm
― sarahell, Saturday, 30 April 2016 19:39 (ten years ago)
I don't drink much at all. But yeah when I have a bottle of dark rum and some Bundaberg's...
― Arch Godliness of Purplefull Magic (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Saturday, 30 April 2016 23:08 (ten years ago)
Island salsa is solid.
― Jeff, Saturday, 30 April 2016 23:29 (ten years ago)
bundaberg is so dope
― Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 1 May 2016 02:50 (ten years ago)
good bottle shape
― μpright mammal (mh), Sunday, 1 May 2016 17:38 (ten years ago)
Chicken and Vegetable Wonton Soup (frozen) is really good. Broth might need a little doctoring to your taste but the veggies are crisp and fresh and the wontons are just fine. (This comes after a string of frozen disappointments)
― always be charging (rip van wanko), Thursday, 12 May 2016 21:14 (ten years ago)
the lamb vindaloo is p good
― rockpalast '82 (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 12 May 2016 21:15 (ten years ago)
I had the frozen Paella that was recommended above and didn't think it was anything special. The boxed package from Vigo (which seems to be widely available) is better, though it is a bit more work to prepare.
― nickn, Thursday, 12 May 2016 22:19 (ten years ago)
not v exciting, but they have new instant oatmeal packets that are just-add-boiling water w flax, chia etc
good portion size, really like em
― Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Thursday, 12 May 2016 23:11 (ten years ago)
i am on record stanning for the lamb vindaloo
― μpright mammal (mh), Friday, 13 May 2016 01:17 (ten years ago)
note that a fair amount of the frozen veggies at TJ's were part of the recall. although we continued to eat a bag of organic mixed vegetables without dying
― akm, Friday, 13 May 2016 02:15 (ten years ago)
(the listeria recall, that is)
― akm, Friday, 13 May 2016 02:16 (ten years ago)
Blueberry Breakfast Biscuits (which are cookies) are exactly the kind of mildly flavored, slightly textured, subtly disappointing compressed sawdust wafers I need in the late morning when I'm waiting for lunch. Nice work, TJs.

don't know why they bother carrying those fresh rice noodles. they're THE WORST! boiled 'em for less than a minute for a pho and shocked them with cold water - they were just a gummy hardly edible mess
― Edgard Varese is god (of music anyways) (outdoor_miner), Friday, 13 May 2016 15:06 (ten years ago)
Good to know it happened to you too. I blamed myself!

Their falafel wrap sandwich thing was like eating patties of mildly dampened sawdust wrapped in an old shirt stuffed with stuff they found under a cutting board. It was so gross it's poisoned my tongue against my sweet potato tortilla chips. YOU ARE WARNED.

Microwave cod Provencale w/ rice and ratatouille was basically gruel topped with dry, flavorless whitefish.

― Flamenco Drop (VegemiteGrrl), Sunday, 5 June 2016 00:11 (ten years ago)
The occasional successes i've had with their food always make me forget how terrible and bland their stuff can be.
― Alan (legendary creature) (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 5 June 2016 00:34 (ten years ago)
My TJ seems to have stopped carrying Fruit Frenzy II fruit bars. Motherfuckers.
― Jeff, Sunday, 5 June 2016 00:55 (ten years ago)
Maybe they're working on Fruit Frenzy III
― Alan (legendary creature) (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 5 June 2016 01:11 (ten years ago)
Just happened to look at this thread and FYI to drinkers of Bundaberg ginger beer and alcohol: highly recommend their Pineapple & Coconut with white rum, as you guys are heading into summer
― glandular lansbury (sic), Sunday, 5 June 2016 13:02 (ten years ago)

― musically, Sunday, 5 June 2016 15:14 (ten years ago)
Yeah I somehow ended up getting five different mango-flavored or -infused products last night.
― orifex, Monday, 6 June 2016 17:08 (ten years ago)

Bundaberg ginger beer seems to be everywhere right now, even stocked at bars, but the pineapple/coconut remains elusive.
― kate78, Tuesday, 7 June 2016 17:53 (ten years ago)
why is there mango everything right now?
― sarahell, Tuesday, 7 June 2016 17:55 (ten years ago)

― F♯ A♯ (∞), Tuesday, 7 June 2016 17:59 (ten years ago)
just had the salsa especial and it tasted like some sort of marinara/salsa hybrid that i never knew i craved
i am so hooked
― sexy dander (Stevie D(eux)), Saturday, 9 July 2016 18:18 (nine years ago)
That's exactly why I didn't care for it, it tastes like spaghetti sauce. Maybe it'd be better on tacos or something.
And time for my annual lament: I wish they'd bring back the vegan mochi.
― Have you hugged your timeghoul today? (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Saturday, 9 July 2016 19:11 (nine years ago)
their 'salsa autentica' has become my go-to store bought salsa. tasty, and seems to keep longer than most
