Nick, Col. Poo, anyone else, if you fancy it me & Matt are among the DJs at Kollaps on Saturday - post-industrial disco, minimal wave, darkwave, EBM &c... It's downstairs at Al Duomo, 10pm until 3am.

I would fancy it, but my wife is going to the US for an undefined number of weeks (she hates our flat so much she wanted to get away for a bit anyway, then her elderly mum had a fall this week so she's going on Monday to look after her when she gets out of hospital) so I will be spending the weekend with her before she leaves.

After Monday I'll be all on my lonesome so will definitely be up for FAPs and ilxors DJing from then on though.

Bring the wife! I'll let her come round and smoke in my flat. (In seriousness: totally understand wanting to spend time together instead, hopefully I will be okay for pubmeets another time, am still very wobbly and kind of dreading having to go out myself.)

Next time I'm DJing is in the bar at Patterns on Sat 23rd April, probably for a couple of hours with a vocal disco and house angle. Optimo are doing 5 hours downstairs, so need to give a bit of contrast.

After Andy Stott talking a good game with his YMO talk, I was then rather unimpressed with the first track released from the LP, so I may not bother as I fancy a quiet week. Likewise I would be up for seeing The Ex if I wasn't in such a mood for a quiet week.

However, a couple of early beers tomorrow sounds like something that one does on a quiet week. Always a fan of the Brighton Beer Dispensary despite the so-so name, and they go OK pub food.

Can do this - not sure exactly what time as we are doing a code release tomorrow at 5:30 which may drag on if something isn't working correctly. But I'm working from home and North Laine is about 10 mins away.

Okay I have no idea what that pub is, but happy to give it a go. Sounds a bit bro-beard and fixed-gear bike, happy to staplegun a cat to my chin and steal the boys' bmx if it helps us blend in. Will aim to get there at six-ish.

I met up with erstwhile ilxor Raw Patrick at a gig once years ago, and he told me I would recognise him because he looks like "a guy who'd post on ILM". I think that description would probably do equally well for me tbh.

Despite the name, it's not really like that at all I think. It's much more old school boozer in feel than most of the other new beer-focused pubs in Brighton, infinitely better than Craft or, spit, Brew Dog,

For a time it seemed like Shrag were a permanent support band at gigs I went to, I dunno just didn't click with them for some reason, even though (or perhaps because) they sound like other bands I like. Not that I've listened to that much of their stuff. I do have one of their singles, but I don't think that much of it.

wow, andy certainly gets around. think i've seen him in about 10 different bands over the years, and they've all been fairly different to each other. not heard bamboo yet, but they're described as ooioo-ish so i'm game.

How was the gig? My quiet 2 drinks plan ended with my rolling out of the pub at eleven.

It was good, although we missed the beginning of the Ex's set because we were sitting downstairs for a bit.

Was a pleasure meeting you all last night. I'm slightly worse for wear today, mainly tired really. I missed my train this morning, but I wasn't so late I got in any trouble for it. Early night tonight I think!

Excellent stuff, previous tenant is getting threatening letters from debt collectors, this place just gets better and better.

I know I'm not supposed to open mail addressed to someone else but I tend to if it's from collection agencies, just to see how likely it is that I'm going to have bailiffs turning up at the door in the near future. I know they can't legally take anything if it's not my debt I just don't want the hassle.

Interestingly it's not actually illegal to open someone else's mail unless you do something fraudulent with the contents, I'd always heard it was. The more you know.

Best thing though is to write something along the lines of 'Not known at this address' and fling them back though isn#t it?

Yeah that's what I will do with the next one. I had just been chucking his mail in the bin but that one looked official and I googled the address and was like oh here we go again. This happened at a previous place I lived and yeah it was fine eventually. They took a while to stop sending the letters but after a few sent back they stopped.

Although I remember my wife getting hassled repeatedly because someone had given her phone number to one of these bastard agencies and they wouldn't believe it was the wrong number.

Anyone going to Kollaps tomorrow night? Apart from emil.y who is DJing obv. I might go along for a bit but while I don't mind going to gigs on my own, going to a DJ/club night on my own I'd probably feel a bit (more) awkward tbh.

In other news I gave notice on our crappy damp woodlice-infested stinky drains no smoking flat today, only 2 months to go...
