I take comfort in the knowledge that I have sleeping pills at home I can take later, as long as I haven't had any alcohol--but also, if I *have* had any alcohol, it will be because the caffeine energies push me to go out to the bars after work, & that's not a bad outcome either

Best-case scenario, I run into my crush at the bar, she's like "wow, your breath is intriguing & your energy level is good, we should have sex directly" (my crush typically speaks with a british accent in our imaginary conversations)

Update: Coffee @ 10:30 last night DID NOT help me 2 get a beezy naked, DID help me open up in conversation with an old buddy, talmbout gardening & the state of our hearts & hatching schemes for all the clothèd beezies of this town (more innocent than I possibly made it sound just now) before I finally went to bed at 5 AM EST (t plus 6.5 hours from time of last coffee consumption, t minus 3.5 hours from right effin now)

i was in a hippie town in the mountains a while ago and i really liked the mugs at their coffee shop so i asked the lady if they sold them and she got really confused for a moment as if that was some totally left field request she cld barely comprhend then she recovered and said the guy who makes them will be coming in to collect the compost to feed his chickens at some point and i cld wait around and talk to him lol

It used to bother me that when I put the Chemex filter in there'd be three layers on one side but only one on the other. I wanted a filter that was even. I haven't used it in years, are they still this way?

just made tea, because my landlord has a guest sitting at the kitchen table--one of the few common areas in the apartment, located right by the electric kettle, in a kitchen that's crowded any time more than one person people--& I wanted to minimize time spent in their presence

so I put two teabags of Twining's Vanilla Chai in a big mug with some honey & added "190 degree" water
short brew (<5 mins I think though I wasn't timing it) because even if I'm a yank, I'm not a savage; plus 2 bags = etc

anyway, it came out tasting fine; still I can't help thinking coffee would've been better

I should just go to the library, otherwise I'm gonna sit here trying to work, having to listen to them chat downstairs, silently resenting them because I'm still dwelling on the dank cup of coffee I could've had if they hadn't been there when I got home, brooding over that shit & driving myself crazy, until I feel like going in there, banging pots & pans together & chasing them off to the bedroom

... instead of which, I'm abou to fall asleep over this mug of tea ffs

okay I have drunk the tea now, it cooled off just enough to get down fast in 3-4 big gulps... is there like a tea equivalent of espresso? should I patent that idea??

I try to avoid caffeine after 3pm but when I need evening/night caffeine for work reasons I've switched to tea. Ahmad is my brand of choice.

So here I am reading this coffee thread, sipping tea, when the tea proceeds to SPILL ALL FUCKING OVER THE PLACE which surely would have not happened with coffee.

Fuck you, tea. Coffee 4evah.
