there are so many austrialian coffee places in new york now have no idea why

The standard of australian espresso-based coffee making is heaps better (in my opinion). Consistency across baristas in a coffee shop, they make them faster and they don't scald the shit out of the milk like many places in NYC/USA.

lag∞n, Thursday, 3 March 2016 17:27 (ten years ago)

My bf scalds the milk and I tell him it doesn't need to be ultra hot but he thinks that's how it's done! And he wonders why the coffee is better when I make it!

obliquity of the ecliptic (rrrobyn), Thursday, 3 March 2016 17:36 (ten years ago)

u shd throw scalding milk all over him

lag∞n, Thursday, 3 March 2016 17:38 (ten years ago)

not a fan of the keep cups -- if you are going to have a reusable vessel for coffee why would you want something that looks like a disposable cup?

marcos, Thursday, 3 March 2016 18:08 (ten years ago)

I don't like keep cups either but I think they deliberately resemble disposable cups so they fit into the coffee making process in cafes

badg, Thursday, 3 March 2016 18:14 (ten years ago)

I drink my morning latte macchiato out of a pint glass. Overheating the milk accidentally totally spoils my morning, to say nothing of my drink.

Three Word Username, Thursday, 3 March 2016 18:14 (ten years ago)

Lately I find my taste has suddenly moved against drinking milk-based espresso drinks -- caps, flat whites, etc. Maybe it's digestion, but I just don't like consuming all that steamed, froth milk anymore.

I can't have more than one a day -- straight espresso after the morning.

Three Word Username, Thursday, 3 March 2016 18:18 (ten years ago)

do one a day, with coffee in them

I just might, although I generally default to one particular mug because it's the biggest

Harbl, it was a wedding gift from my parents and has seen huge amounts of use in the 12 years since, a kitchen all-star.

I'm gonna have to show off some cof tech in my next daily entry.

Weird to me that so many of y'all drink coffee before working out—maybe it's because I swim & my biggest issue is pacing myself so I don't tire too fast, but I greatly prefer exercising either before my 1st coffee, or after crashing from my 3rd/4th/5th/etc

bernard snowy, Saturday, 5 March 2016 02:49 (ten years ago)

Drinking tea rite now

bernard snowy, Saturday, 5 March 2016 03:44 (ten years ago)

I take comfort in the knowledge that I have sleeping pills at home I can take later, as long as I haven't had any alcohol--but also, if I *have* had any alcohol, it will be because the caffeine energies push me to go out to the bars after work, & that's not a bad outcome either

bernard snowy, Saturday, 5 March 2016 03:48 (ten years ago)

Best-case scenario, I run into my crush at the bar, she's like "wow, your breath is intriguing & your energy level is good, we should have sex directly" (my crush typically speaks with a british accent in our imaginary conversations)

bernard snowy, Saturday, 5 March 2016 03:52 (ten years ago)

lol yr breath is intriguing
