with plastic ur always concerned about w/e leaches out of the plastic at boiling temps

you ever smell like a plastic travel coffee mug? it is a gross stale coffee smell. drip machines smell the same way

I wouldn't drink coffee out of a plastic travel mug, but it seems like the few minutes it comes in contact with the cone while it's brewing is not enough to impart a noticeable off flavor or aroma to the finished product. I think the problem with the mug is that you smell it while you're drinking, not that off flavors actually seep back out of the plastic into the coffee.

flavors cld def get into the cof imo better go ceramic to be safe

iirc the rancidity index of a plastic travel mug drastically decreases when used by someone who is not a disgusting savage & knows to rinse his shit out on the daily

Califa Farms cold brew concentrate is smooth and tasty if you're the kind of weirdo who doesn't water it down or add milk (like me). I've finally accepted that grocery store cold brew isn't that much more expensive than DIY.

ya I want to try the others! The only thing I don't like is that the ratio of flavor and creaminess are locked in, like i can't make it creamier w/o making it sweeter and vice versa

haha the lack of options is exactly why I like it! tho my preference on any given day fluctuates between black/cream/cream+sugar/sugar (in descending order of frequency), the fixed ratio of that particular creamer generally hits the spot for my "cream+sugar" preference while giving me one less thing to potentially screw up! (I prefer to pour cream and/or sugar first & then add the coffee -- saves the need for a spoon or stirrer, makes it easier to see how much I'm using, & raises the stakes a bit since I'm stuck with whatever comes out)

Coffee has oils in it that go rancid, hence I favor frequent cleaning.

every once in a while i attack mine with steel wool for like 20 minutes to see how shiny i can get it

guys what's your preferred roast, y'all go for the lights or the mediums or the darks? or light-medium/medium-dark?

i buy from a third wave place thats def on the light-medium spectrum, like they dont even label them as such
