Oh, I see those all the time, with a ton of likes and "lol so true!" comments. It's bullshit. Kids totally got run over and sick and ill and died and stuff when I was a kid. And some of them were fat. But you can't point that out to faux nostalgia nuts.
Also without fail every week there's someone who will post a picture of kids playing in the street and go on about what a shame it is that kids don't play in the street any more. Clearly never been in my street where you can't move for the wee fuckers. And I bet they'd be the first to complain if they couldn't drive their car down the road for kids kicking a football around in their way. Kids today, no respect memes would be replacing kids today, don't know how to enjoy themselves ones.

Assuming this is a real comment and not something made up by 'RealFarmacy.com'(?), has Dave Grohl always been this much of a grumpy old curmudgeon?
Lots of good comments underneath including:'I find there's more visual boring girls with them trying to let it all hang out no talent, I love musicians story tellers, I'm sick and tired of the same looking girls and guysShow no individual talent it's more aboutDressing up without talentWe crave for people who can play instruments and good songwriters.Bands please come back.Sick of the dull and monotonous.''

― Hadrian VIII, Tuesday, 1 March 2016 12:41 (ten years ago)
A tuck shop is a small, food-selling retailer.[1] It is a term principally used in the UK, Ireland, Grenada, South Africa, New Zealand, Jamaica, Sri Lanka, Australia, Pakistan, and occasionally in other parts of the former British Empire.[2] In New South Wales, the term is interchangeable with the word canteen. When the tuck shop is in a school, it is frequently the only place (other than the school canteen) where monetary transactions can be made. As such, particularly in the UK, they often sell items of stationery too, although food is still their primary source of income and customers. In Australia at both youth clubs and schools the tuck shop is mainly staffed by volunteers from the community, which may include students, parents and, in the case of clubs, members. The term is also used in Indian boarding schools. In Canada, summer camps often have tuck shops for the same reason, to allow campers to buy small items while away from home.

Re.: faux nostalgia nuts, I like the term "pastopians."
Any "in my day, we only had three TV channels" stuff automatically triggers thoughts of the Monty Python "Four Yorkshiremen" sketch.
House? You were lucky to have a HOUSE! We used to live in one room, all hundred and twenty-six of us, no furniture.
You were lucky to have a ROOM! *We* used to have to live in a corridor!
Ohhhh we used to DREAM of livin' in a corridor!
Well when I say 'house' it was only a hole in the ground covered by a piece of tarpolin, but it was a house to US.
We were evicted from *our* hole in the ground; we had to go and live in a lake!
You were lucky to have a LAKE! There were a hundred and sixty of us living in a small shoebox in the middle of the road.

It was January 1968, the winter after the Summer of Love. The Tet Offensive was grabbing headlines all over the nation. The #1 song on the Billboard Hot 100? It damn well wasn't about someone's butt! It was a tender ballad titled "Judy in Disguise (With Glasses)", by John Fred and His Playboy Band. We didn't consider it a problem.
