locals in my fb feed saying "ragh why not Santana, Journey & the Steve Miller Band" (san francisco bands) and I was like, yeah i guess coldplay isn't *that* bad
Not gonna lie, when they put up the big "Believe in Love" banner in the stands, I thought, for one beautiful moment, that this was the cue for local heroes Huey Lewis and the News to come out and play "Do You Believe in Love". Then they could have encored with "Hip To Be Square" with Joe Montana reprising his backup vocal! Why do they not let me program the Super Bowl halftime show?!?!?
― Guayaquil (eephus!), Thursday, 11 February 2016 04:18 (ten years ago)

― uptown garfunkel (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 11 February 2016 16:11 (ten years ago)
And then the whole show would just go dark.
― how's life, Thursday, 11 February 2016 16:47 (ten years ago)
^inadvertently referring to the game as a "show" here but anyway, that would be a rad way for the nfl to go out.
― how's life, Thursday, 11 February 2016 16:50 (ten years ago)
the game wasn't even in San Francisco. It was in Santa Clara, a San Jose suburb.

i can never decide if 49ers or Seahawk fans are the most bandwagon fans in the NFL, tossup
― uptown garfunkel (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 11 February 2016 20:45 (ten years ago)
seahawks man, seahawks. both are runners up to the cowboys tho.
― Spottie, Thursday, 11 February 2016 20:46 (ten years ago)

xp I do appreciate the refreshing honesty of the WE ARE 12 banners in this town
― JoeStork, Thursday, 11 February 2016 20:55 (ten years ago)
I grew up in Packer territory and now live in Seahawk land and the difference in die-hardness of the fans is staggering.
Last fall one of my students casually mentioned her father being a Seahawks coach, then later that he used to be a 49er, like it wasn't a big deal. I looked him up and realized he's got four superbowl rings from the Joe Montana era.
― joygoat, Thursday, 11 February 2016 21:02 (ten years ago)
The Seahawks bandwagon in Vancouver, BC is nuts. Seahawks hats as far as the eye could see around the time of the Super Bowl win - much, much rarer site this season.
