Mark C (Mark C), Sunday, 20 April 2003 10:25 (twenty-three years ago)

chris motherfucking wu?! i know him too. and so does electric sound of jim. and everybody on the planet!

minna (minna), Sunday, 20 April 2003 11:15 (twenty-three years ago)

yeah! it seems like everyone and their momma knows [...and loves] chris. i met him via sinister, and he stayed at my place in new york for three weeks, so when i was in sydney, he let me stay at his parents'. was great. his popfrenzy night seems to be going really well. sleepy jackson [or is it sleepy township?] just played, and they have ARE Weapons coming up... which is pretty big, i guess.

i even know this australian girl [miyuki/MJ] from my university in new york who knew chris back from sydney. its strange.

phil-two (phil-two), Sunday, 20 April 2003 11:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Matos v. Chr1s Wu ubiquity FITE!

felicity (felicity), Sunday, 20 April 2003 14:29 (twenty-three years ago)

No one ever sees me anywhere. Maybe I'm invisible!

Jody Beth Rosen (Jody Beth Rosen), Sunday, 20 April 2003 14:46 (twenty-three years ago)

Me neither, Jody. We can be invisible together.

rosemary (rosemary), Sunday, 20 April 2003 16:03 (twenty-three years ago)

There's something incredibly weird and sinister about the way gareth said he was going to replace Matos.

Ally (mlescaut), Sunday, 20 April 2003 17:55 (twenty-three years ago)

With the exception of bumping into Pete, Emma and Alan in King's Cross once, I don't think I've ever just randomly come across an ILXer in London, which is amazing when you consider the place is full of the buggers.

Matt DC (Matt DC), Sunday, 20 April 2003 18:06 (twenty-three years ago)

See above - perhaps they're hiding from you too, Matt.

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Sunday, 20 April 2003 18:27 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw this girl out last night who must be di's Australian double. she was wearing a T Rex t-shirt and everything

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Sunday, 20 April 2003 23:51 (twenty-three years ago)

hstencil at kim's. who then witnessed the shame joy of me buying the my so-called life dvd box set.

Mary (Mary), Monday, 21 April 2003 02:00 (twenty-three years ago)

No shame in your game, girl. I just ended up getting that Can CD, nothin' else. Did buy a copy of Cities of the Red Night on the street by NYU, tho.

hstencil, Monday, 21 April 2003 04:08 (twenty-three years ago)

Hooray! Finally I can contribute to this thread!

I saw Anna on the street outside Handsome SoundArtist's flat! I almost didn't recognise her with her cute new haircut, but I recognised her musical note bag!

kate, Thursday, 24 April 2003 07:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Me neither, Jody. We can be invisible together.

Lies, Rosemary! I saw you once at Other Music - we were both standing in front of the Belle & Sebastian "I'm Waking Up to Us" EP and talking about The Happy Hooker because you were on your way to Fez to see a reading.., and you were wearing fishnet stockings.

phil-two (phil-two), Thursday, 24 April 2003 08:03 (twenty-three years ago)

What was Anna doing outside HSA's flat?!? Are you suspicious?

Martin Skidmore (Martin Skidmore), Thursday, 24 April 2003 19:08 (twenty-three years ago)

I haven't seen them, but apparently I have been working a block away from Martin, Pete, and Julio for the last two months.

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 08:35 (twenty-three years ago)

Before that, I worked just up the road for two years - the number of times I probably passed one of them on the street...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Tuesday, 29 April 2003 08:36 (twenty-three years ago)

Martin, don't cause trouble.

kate, Tuesday, 29 April 2003 08:40 (twenty-three years ago)

hstencil on Ave. A

felicity (felicity), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 02:56 (twenty-three years ago)

I saw Gareth's disembodied head floating evilly over my city on his way to Los Angeles.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 03:00 (twenty-three years ago)

me too! hstencil on ave a in white jeans.

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 03:04 (twenty-three years ago)

Not only white jeans, but with MY DATE!

hstencil, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 04:14 (twenty-three years ago)

ha ha you always be having a date

Mary (Mary), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 04:15 (twenty-three years ago)

By the evidence of this thread, I am the most spotted ILxOr in London. Its my out and about and garoulous stylings to be sure.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 08:07 (twenty-three years ago)

you're always spotted bcz you have a gorgeous girl with you pete. you're a playa.

Julio Desouza (jdesouza), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 08:29 (twenty-three years ago)

What was Anna doing outside HSA's flat?!? Are you suspicious?

-- Martin Skidmore

Stop stiring Skidmore. I was around there due to my total inability to ever find the AKA bar. I thought getting off at Russell Square and walking would dothe trick. It didn't.

Thanks for the haircut props Kate. I didn't think it made that much difference, but about four or five people have also failed to recognise me.

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 08:53 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm a playa only because life's a beach.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 09:49 (twenty-three years ago)

Anna, you're better off getting off at Holborn and following the westbound buses to that corner where Bloomsbury Way becomes New Oxford Street - I think the Old Crown pub is there next to a Winkworth etc, and the carpark. You will then see the clear way to AKA and The End.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 09:53 (twenty-three years ago)

Or doing exactly the same from TCR tube walking past Arguus and then turning right at the Old Crown.

Though isn't Russell Square lovely at the moment.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 09:58 (twenty-three years ago)

Pete, my friend's Polish dad calls it Aggros.

Methinks Anna got off Chariot of the Gods aka 91 bus just a bit too quickly.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 10:01 (twenty-three years ago)

Theoretically I know where it is. It just seems to move. I thought appraoching from a different angle might help.

Russell Square is gorgeous at the moment. Well except for the wino who jumped up off a bench and shouted "You're not old enough to be in here."

Anna (Anna), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 10:34 (twenty-three years ago)

I like Russell Square. The fountain is really good for "I'm gonna push you in the fountain!" "No, I'm going to push YOU in the fountain!" type tussles. ;-)

kate, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 10:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Ah the 91 - the ILE bus.

Actually the only ILXor I ever bump into in Crouch End is Marianna. Still this may be due to me avoiding Barbella's and having our own Banners On the Hill at the moment.

I can't waiot until the roses grow over the arches in about ten years... I may go spend an hours contemplation in there now. (Or I may go shopping).

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:12 (twenty-three years ago)

I can see Russell Sq from my window!!

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:12 (twenty-three years ago)

You can't see Russell Square from HSA's window (though you can see their own private square. And CentrePoint) but you can see it from his doorstep!

Are we the new Bloomsbury? Do we all revolve around Russell Square?

kate, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:21 (twenty-three years ago)

I always have revolved around Bloomsbury. (Shock - thinking about this gives me the cary fact that I have worked in Russell Sqaure for the last EIGHT YEARS!!!!)

HSA is loaded if he lives there.

Of course if Russell Square is the environ of choice, I run the local.

Pete (Pete), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:23 (twenty-three years ago)

I should add - that's my work window, not my home window. HSA = a playa? ;)

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:27 (twenty-three years ago)

The flat is not HSA's. It belongs to his family. I suspect Bloomsbury links, due to his Grandfather's AIP status. ;-)

kate, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:31 (twenty-three years ago)

Yup, he's a playa!

L-R Kate, HSA, some random guy...

Nordicskillz (Nordicskillz), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 11:42 (twenty-three years ago)

ha ha you always be having a date

what is that supposed to mean? : (

hstencil, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:23 (twenty-three years ago)

It doesn't seem like a mysterious statement.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:26 (twenty-three years ago)

Hey, where did my post go? This has been happening a lot lately!

I said that hstencil was also a PLAYAH and therefore the mystery of the "third man" in the photo of me and HSA is solved!

kate, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:30 (twenty-three years ago)

BTW, AIP has been changed from meaning An Important Poet to An Important Playah. Dope fresh, you be down with my New Verse, ya'll here? Word. Sworth.

kate, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:31 (twenty-three years ago)

*ker-ching*

Well played, Kate.

suzy (suzy), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:33 (twenty-three years ago)

oh Ally I'm just upset Mary didn't say "hey your date was nice" or "hey your date was cute" or other nice things. : (

hstencil, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Did you ever consider that maybe Mary didn't find her nice?

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:36 (twenty-three years ago)

but we had a nice 2 minute conversation or whatever!

hstencil, Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Well, don't argue with me, I didn't meet her, I'm sure she's lovely.

Ally (mlescaut), Wednesday, 30 April 2003 12:38 (twenty-three years ago)

(aside to kate, I think the guy who's to the right of Ice-T is the guy who did all his beats, so maybe it'd make sense that that's HSA? But then again, he's the main pimp, so...)
