the idea that twitter "makes" you do cliched twitter shit is silly imo. you can be cognizant of what people do and just choose not to. i don't have to quit having a couple beers a week because alcoholics exist. i don't have to leave ilx because lj exists (although it's tempting sometimes).

a lot of hard right/g*mergate people are freaking out about twitter's "trust and safety council" and some recent (if u want my opinion i think TWTR should be more transparent about why it does what it does, and be as clear as possible about the difference between harassment and mere bigotry)
