more timely though (oh, watches too. don't care. again, old vintage stuff that looks cool, fine, but otherwise...) phones! you know, iphones and the like. have zero interest. maria just got some new insanely expensive thing...no interest. my kids have those things that are like phones but are not phones. ipods or whatever. i kinda want to throw them away when they aren't looking. never want to own a cell phone. have no interest in your apps.

am i the only ilxor without a cell phone?

because i know a lot of you people are complete freaks about things like that....

I'm not much into electronic gadgets, but I do have a cell phone. I was a relatively late adopter in my circle.

the sound quality on a land line is worth it

i never go anywhere though. so, that's one reason i don't have one. i'm either home or at work or with maria. who, as it has been stated, has a fancy new phone.

I was talking (on my house line) to a friend on Wed night about why I still pay almost $30 for a house line. Apart from never getting interference, it's good to keep one in Florida when hurricanes knock the power out.

I'm still fascinated by lingering ananchronicisms like hotel phones. Who uses them except to call downstairs? Someone must!

Neither of my two closest friends in Glasgow have mobile phones. It drives me NUTS.

I don't have a cellphone or a home phone. My wife's got a cell, but I'm a little SOL when she's not around.

What do you non-cell phone people do when you have to wait in lines for an extended amount of time? Read books or something??

I mean, I'm not totally in the woods. I've got a deactivated 3GS that I play Drop 7 on.

but, again, i am not usually waiting in a line. yesterday was the first time i left town since new years eve. i went to amherst to buy books and records. then i came home.

my impulse buy yesterday. the intersystems vinyl boxed set. so much cooler than a phone.

but really i went to get the ferrante books. which are lovely objects to hold. i imagine people feel the same about their phone.

we have a landline at home. and i have one at the store.

That makes sense. It's a lot of work always being the point person. My mom made all arrangements when I was a kid (without mobile phones) and I think she hated it. That's why I asked. Carry on, dgaf thread!

I have a landline. We do get junk robocalls and junk calls from boiler room operations that sound like they are based in Bangalore. I'd hardly call them nonstop, but the same few fraudsters seem to persist in calling us, sometimes 3 or 4 times a week. Since these are clearly illegal and fraudulent rackets, they don't care about breaking any minor laws or regulations.
