i should qualify, he writes/edits a lot and has academic cred of some sort but i've talked to ppl who have lived basically in his neighborhood and know nothing of the dude

really a lot of people like to fucking rip into ppl in the most egregious ways; you just want to slap your palm on the desk and shout YOU ARE NOT DOING THE PEOPLE'S BUSINESS HERE

most of these ppl end up looking pretty bad

generally a problem with the left and its interest in justice is it ends up attracting a lot of extremely self righteous unkind people who no one wld actual ever want to associate with

i just want justice and liberty and equality and the ability to be a total dick to everyone

Board academics of twitter aint got no jobs in the summer and are tired of reading after crushingly brutal course evals, so they don't bother reading Frost or Stoker and immediately agree with Kendizor. Stoker, Frost, and Erickson, all women, are called misogynists and rape apolgists.

this sounds right but WHY unkind??, seems like most of the WARRIORZ i know are hella kind, it kinda goes w/ their interest in justice in the first place (say, justice-as-compassion)

i think desire for justice is sometimes more about an interest in fairness and order than it is about actually caring about people, feel like the left attracts a lot of very heady people who have a deep investment in being right

having said that idk if you can truly be said to care about people if you dont desire justice for them, and of course im not claiming everyone fits that description or their arent shades of grey etc

and of course the left has a long and often comic occasionally tragic history of internal ideological struggles

there's a kind of "moral absolutism" inherent to post-enlightenment politics of both the right and left (cf. reinhart koselleck's "critique and crisis") that makes compassion and justice not exactly opposites but not entirely overlapping either.

but "social compassion warrior" probably wouldn't catch on as well.

idk I get confused whenever someone brings up the enlightenment. the way Twitter constantly streams real-time, seems like it's easier 'be right' than to be kind when talking politics

Heh well played but even then yeah, there are better options than twitter for this, I mean twitter usage objectively makes u an awful person so why wouldn't u seek alternatives
