back in the hometown before law school or becoming a drifter. hhung out with one of the few girls left in town . feels too pathetic to try and bone her, but what do u do when ur a 20-something dude. next saturday wi ll see the old highsol crew. most of them work at best buy or applebyss and have never moved out of the hhhhhhhouse.

my boring saturday night was fun! my boring sunday night promises to be boring though. should i get beer?

muscles sore from biking to derby smoked some weed ate $15 mac&cheese made some tea listened to some good records

i was not ready for another night out so i stayed in and watched a lot of hulu stuff and just opened a beer because i'm not ready for bed yet but i need to make myself tired so i can get up and be prouctive tomorrow.

spent the afternoon in the west valley taking recon pictures for project; when the sun went down bf and i saw baby mama and had awesome deli at brent's. went home and fell asleep and i'm up now.

trying to play mario kart against random people in the world when the DVD player spookily turned itself on. they're both on the same scart input so i couldn't see the race. couldn't find tthe DVD remote (who plays DVDs these days anyway) and the player wouldn't turn off on the unit. power and scart connex are behind heavy telly. so sod it. watch PVRd stuff instead (that's on the other scart input)

mm, saturday night

wtf, restaurants in copenhagen close at 10pm, so i spent an hour walking around trying to find something with an open kitchen and ended up at a very mediocre sushi place and ended up spending like $40usd on green tea, miso soup, 4 pieces of sushi, 4 pieces of california roll. UGH.

Talked to best friend on the phone for an hour, got a burrito and fries across the street and watched Madonna's Truth or Dare. Not bad, actually.

Saturday night: worked an overnight, swapped tubes in my amp, monkeyed with a few new pedals, talked to BigLurks, bed.
Sunday night: grocery store, ate chicken cow mein, read, played GTA, on ilx now. later tonight I'm going to fix a guitar cuz the ground wire...sounds like it's bare or something? Whatever's wrong it's going bzzzzzzz. I kinda wanna wait because the pots are practically toys and I need new ones, but f it I'm bored.

hmmm... saturday night was obligatory eastside hipster rock show. sunday night had more going on: john lautner exhibit at the hammer, jeffersons and criminal intent reruns, meatball pizza and root beer.

took my wife to el portal in pasadena, kind of a souped-up acapulco. margaritas were pretty good. stayed up with baby almost all night.

we have to have a margarita party before the summer's out.

yeah i just said as much on the grouplist. do any of us have a yard? lol

ugggh, bailed on my ride to east hampton for the hugo boss / interview magazine party, played neverwinter nights 2 instead and went to a bar with a friend and had a root beer and a cheese plate instead (gres de vosges, la serena, humboldt fog).. sucks

pp at poker night and kid asleep so I ended up sitting in CHATZ for about two hours saying not much at all while IMing brother-in-law in LosA and ex-boyfriends brother in Chicago. later watched 2 tivoed eps of the bold and the beautiful while eating coco krispies 4 dinner.

everyone I know is busy tonight. bleh.

We moved yesterday and woke up to major drama (huge leak dripping into our flat from the neighbor above who is out of town, bldg mgr out of town, etc etc etc, lock drilled out, problem contained and cleaned up by us, welcome to the building!), so a boring night getting liquored up at home watching dvds would be great. If we could find all the cables and necessary remotes. And, some glasses. But we also are going to the housewarming of friends and will be boring by leaving early.

Had the best fresh tomato sammy yesterday - toasted italian bread, some olive tapenade, thick sliced heritage tomatoes, thick slices of fresh mozzarella. Totally yum.

Okay, back to boringness.

slept until 3PM, cashed a $5000 check then cooked fried chicken, then walked the dog to the supermarket, then a 1 hr bike ride, then beer and bourbon time, ran out of beer, rode bike to beer store for 2 24 oz. Sierra Nevadas, had 1 Sierra Nevada with intermittent shots of bourbon, took photos of things in the house placed next to other things, fucked wife, cooked a frozen pizza, watching American women play a beach volleyball match against Japanese women on The Olympics™, gonna ride bike more tomorrow A.M., it sucks that Bernie Mac died

slept til 2, paid the state half my paycheck, did the budget and realized i'm in the red for at least the next month, went to work, found out the one coworker i like is quitting to move back home, goin home tonight to drink warm white wine and watch fistful of dollars

gbx: i understand where you're at, man. do you have a local alt weekly? when i first moved here i found people by going to regular events listed in the austin chronicle. that helped me get out of the house and meet new people with similar interests. some of those people turned into friends. as corny as it sounds, ilx was a big help too. "internet friends"

"internet friends" can be just as good at listening and getting excited about records and talkin shit about movies as "real friends."
