I find her cloying.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:32 (twenty years ago)

But inoffensive and avoidable, so I don't really care. I mean, she's not Dick Cheney.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:32 (twenty years ago)

I've never actually seen her show, but her cookbooks are unimpressive.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:32 (twenty years ago)

Me and my buddy watched her show pretty religiously last winter. She's a treat. On TV, at least.

But yeah, a bit cloying.

gbx (skowly), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:33 (twenty years ago)

Somehow I'm charmed by her cloying side, kind of like the "charming asshole" appeal that some gents must have. I like the fantasy of me and Rachel Ray having Lisa Loeb and her boyfriend over for Scrabble and Schnapps.

Eazy (Eazy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:35 (twenty years ago)

You do know that people are talking about Rachael Ray on the Food Network thread right now, right?

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:36 (twenty years ago)

Oh no, I didn't!!

And I know so little about cooking, I wouldn't care if her recipes are actually good (except at dinnertime).

Eazy (Eazy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:37 (twenty years ago)

(Ugh, I don't like that I've used that "You know ... right?" construction twice today.)

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:37 (twenty years ago)

I love Rachel Ray. That chick needs bigger cans though.

Jeff. (Jeff), Thursday, 2 March 2006 19:46 (twenty years ago)

I don't understand what's up with Giarda whatever though. I mean, Maddie and I and whoever else could get together and have a Nice Rack! (of Ribs) show if that's all it takes.

how could we forget AU GRATIN.

We don't need to talk about potatoes all day. I just ate 10 kalamata olives.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:30 (twenty years ago)

I could talk about olives all day. Olives and potatoes.

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:32 (twenty years ago)

Sweet tater ate a sweet tater today.

Sweet Tater (kelstarry), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:34 (twenty years ago)

Weird, Jordan. I just turned in an edited article ("Fig"), and the next one on my pile is "Olive."

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:45 (twenty years ago)

At my work they make the tartar sauce with potato flour. It's absolutely the best tartar sauce ever to hit my palate.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:50 (twenty years ago)

Hi
Sarah said that something might be happening Chicago ILX-wise next weekend (NOT THIS WEEKEND). Is that true? Sarah will be out of town and I'll be looking for things to do.

Hi.
Come to the Hideout 2nite.

Hi.
I'm going to go eat some chocolate frosting now.

n/a (Nick A.), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:52 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I think that's when Jordan's show at the Mill is going to be, yes? I might try to get in on that, depending on circumstances.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:54 (twenty years ago)

I've got a bunch of friends coming to town next weekend. You're welcome to come out and hang with us.

Steely Df'nM (OutDatWay), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:55 (twenty years ago)

Nick, next weekend my band is playing at the Green Mill on both Friday and Saturday, and Jocelyn might be in town as well. There will also be Hot Doug's, come hot dogs or high water.

xpost

Jordan (Jordan), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:55 (twenty years ago)

John, how did you find that picture?? Yeh, that's where I work.

jesseOoooo, Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:57 (twenty years ago)

I think I might change my name to Pierogi Jones

Then you could join several other Polish women on a daytime chat show called Im Wodik.

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:57 (twenty years ago)

Jesse, I'm stalking you.

Kisses :)

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 20:58 (twenty years ago)

I might have a massage with Eazy's housemate tonight. If she calls me back. Certain Noise Board posters think it's weird to wear any clothes whatsoever at a massage -- and I'm not so modest to reject that notion out of hand, but I feel like it's a little different since this a friend-of-a-friend at a house, rather than a professional in a professional setting. (I was just planning on wearing boxers, btw.)

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:20 (twenty years ago)

Yeah, I mean, at least wear your u-trou.

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:21 (twenty years ago)

I think it's a little weird to not go without at a massage, but I understand the mitigating circumstances. Why don't you ask the masseuse when you get there?

Laurel (Laurel), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:21 (twenty years ago)

Do people groan during massages? This is an honest question. I mean, it has to feel good, but do people generally vocalize? I would imagine not, right?

The Milkmaid (82375538-A) (The Milkmaid), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:22 (twenty years ago)

I did last week, Manda; I would think that the Customer Is Always Right and that The Masseuse Has Heard It All.

I hope that works out, John - I'll be off at a pee wee hockey game in Wilmette.

Eazy (Eazy), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:25 (twenty years ago)

Okay, you know, I've never had a massage in my life (I mean, a real one, not just like a shoulder rub from a girlfriend), so I don't really know the protocol. I guess I'll ask her. I just know that Eric kept his pants on. But also: what happens? Do you undress in front of her? Or does she leave the room and come back with you lying on your stomach? Am I supposed to keep my ding-ding hidden from view?

jaymc (jaymc), Thursday, 2 March 2006 21:26 (twenty years ago)

hahaha. i think there are towels involved, and modesty regarding the ding-ding.
