some guy i haven't actually met in person (but who has emailed me) asked to be my "friend" on FB a few months ago. he then commenced spamming my FB with invites for various local events i have no interest in attending. i kindly messaged him to ask him to take me off the invite list, and he un-friended me.

Actually, this reminds me that during college, H (who is Israeli) actually did live in a house with a turkish muslim, a sikh who was dating a white american who converted to islam, and two white people from florida who turned out to have white supremacist leanings and listened to nazi skinhead punk. there's a guy who works here who posts to FB perhaps 30-40 times a day (i wouldn't know for certain, since i've long since hidden his posts and only see them when other "friends" comment on them) --most of them either macros or links to articles i suspect he hasn't even fully read himself -- and still routinely complains about not having enough time to get work done, etc. etc. i feel like the little facebook "hand w/ thumbs-up" icon should reach out of his computer monitor and slap some sense into him.
