I hated Star Wars as a kid, my mother dragged me into a cinema when I was 4 made me watch it under duress. Then years later when she got divorced and started hitting the town, my sister was left in charge of me and took me on a date with this violent freak she ended up marrying to a showing of Star Wars, Empire fucking Strikes Back and Return Of the fucking Jedi in one marathon viewing. I fucking hate George Lucas and every piece of shit he has made.

Is there an exact date after which ILE posters went from being generally nice to incredibly snarky a-holes? I've never said boo to anyone on this site, I've been here for ten years plus posting regularly and never spoken ill of anyone. Unbelievable...

I'll look into when I started here. But at least 12 years. And obviously, ILE is famous for snark, but it's gotten exponentially meaner. May just be the general shape of things to come!

I think I'm right in saying ILX was set up by Belle & Sebastian fans, so I'm assuming snark was a fairly rare commodity early on.

What happened to The Earth after the moon went for a wander in Space 1999? is that addressed anywhere.
Is taht just the end of that timeline in Gerry Anderson? Or is anything else set in the future of that?

With the moon having vast influence on tides etc you'd expect a level of disaster to hit the earth
