Seymour Cocks
Born in Darlington, Cocks was educated at Plymouth College and became a journalist. He joined the Independent Labour Party and wrote several tracts for the party and for the Union of Democratic Control. He stood unsuccessfully for Maidstone in the 1923 general election. He was elected to the safe seat of Broxtowe in the 1929 general election.
After World War II it was revealed that he had been placed on the 'Special Search List G.B' of prominent subjects to be arrested by the Nazis had they succeeded in invading Britain.

The Prince George’s County Police Department said an officer shot and killed a suspect during a struggle on Friday night.Officials said the unidentified officer was on patrol near Brooks Drive and Marlboro Pike when he heard a car crash and went to investigate. As he arrived, he saw a suspect, Asshams Pharoah Manley, 30, of Forestville, running away from the crash scene.

A 21-year-old man appeared at Bristol Magistrates' Court this morning charged with raping and grooming a 12-year-old girl.
Jack Smoothy, from Yate, is charged with raping the girl between September 30 and October 31. He is also charged with grooming the girl after allegedly contacting her on more than one occasion.
The grooming charge relates to activity on social media, while the alleged rape occurred in the Bristol area.
Dressed in a white t-shirt, silver chain and grey track-suit bottoms, Smoothy spoke only to confirm his full name and age.
