12 You have breast cancer.
― carl agatha, Saturday, 26 September 2015 15:45 (ten years ago)
I've gotten that one in back to back years. My reply is always that I won't do it because it's fucking stupid and has nothing to do with breast cancer awareness.

Raising awareness of basically a feel good way of doing nothing
― Ma$e-en-scène (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Saturday, 26 September 2015 16:33 (ten years ago)
People that misunderstand the usage of "awareness" really and think it means saying 'just a reminder, breast cancer exists" rather that providing any facts and figures or links for donations or anything.
A close friend of mine got it at age 24...beat it, and breaks her back promoting awareness and holding semiannual fundraisers so this kinda shit cheeses me off.
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Saturday, 26 September 2015 16:57 (ten years ago)
I guess "Breast Cancer Acknowledgement" doesn't have the same gravitas.
― Hammer Smashed Bagels, Saturday, 26 September 2015 17:07 (ten years ago)
Spread awareness about breast cancer by Facebook private messages you're supposed to keep secret

See, I have but one friend on facebook who posts those dumb things regarding ex-servicemen getting no benefits yada, and nonsense scare stories about yada, and don't even start me on moneybags time.. I don't block him because its the only one and its sometimes interesting to know what's going on there. Bit like this thread.
Anyway, the latest one is a pic of various tablets with the warning "if your kid comes back from trick or treating with any of these don't let them eat them they are drugs and they will get poorly"
Because there's loads of people giving away drugs for free..
― Mark G, Sunday, 27 September 2015 17:47 (ten years ago)
also funny because, like, are parents seeing kids coming home on halloween, sacks bulging with tablets of all color, size, shape and numbering and just wishing there was a convenient place to identify the safe ones?

Welcome to the world of Knights & Brides, a fairytale kingdom with its hierarchy, intrigues, rivalry and, of course, romance. So, now imagine... You are a charming young lady or a noble knight.
The lady is running the household and the knight is fighting in jousts until one day they find each other and decide to play together for triumph and glory. That’s when the entire social potential of the game unfolds.
The bride learns to cook dishes for her brave knight to boost his strength in combat, while the knight dedicates victories to his lady and wins her glory. As your relationship grows in strength, the two will earn new titles, expand the estates, win new and develop previously conquered lands.
Find your mate in Knights & Brides and play happily ever after!
Knights & Brides is free to play. Some in-game items are available for purchase.

The creator of Knights and Brides apparently hasn't read the chivalric literature. Brides hopped into bed with Knights and inspired them through plentiful sexing, including before marriage.

I think it's because they moved more and more to the "user generated" cards to the point that I don't even know if they do their droll original cards anymore. I do remember them being pretty funny originally.
