I mean, I sort of understand having grown up south of HSTNGS, but OTOH HSTNGS is terrible

I will say though that at choir competitions and at All-State the kids I vibed the most with were from Lakeville, partially because they were SUPER FILTHY

lol i have lived here most of 15 years and i still barely have any idea where edina and eden prairie are

roseville i got pretty okay

I grew up there and I continually confuse Roseville with Rosemount

(Edina is west of Bloomington, Eden Prairie is west of Edina)

as a tourist I am vaguely aware as I have driven through/past them in search of the IKEA next to the big mall

Grew up literally blocks from the border of Roseville (lake como) so for me Roseville basically is the platonic suburb

i only know where woodbury and cottage grove are. edina and wayzata, too, i guess because you have to know your enemy

all other suburbs are terra nullis imo

Little shaky on suburbs north of Twin Cities because my internal jukebox goes a bit Sergio Leone when reminded of Anoka County, and same goes for a lot of places around Shakopee/Savage which were farmy when I was little, but could probably win the 'name the most towns around Lake Minnetonka' challenge if pressed. So many semi-rural places have been added to the exurb sprawl, it's hard to keep track if you're from a first-ring place like St Louis Park.

Grew up in Burnsville, and confuse Lakeville and Prior Lake. Though I'm glad to see "the gem of Lakeville" and my special-occasion place growing up The Chart House is still around.

i like to think prior lake was named because the white explorers were rolling through coming up with names and it looked just like the prior lake

So me and a friend went out for drinks Thursday, decided to hit the Triple Rock, it was closed. He texted a friend that works there & I guess it's now closed Monday through Thursday unless there is a show booked..... Hope they are ok

i saw recently that donnie dirk's is only open friday and saturday, and not full bar hours. that place is about 12 shades too kitschy for me generally but i did really like it.

Donnie Dirk's is fun once in awhile. The 11 p.m. laser show needs to start rotating its musical accompaniment tho.

i guess i shouldn't talk about it in the past tense but the hours don't bode well. the gardettos and heggies pizzas they serve there are better than the food at place with the ferris wheel

some frequent commenters itt did get me some nigh undrinkable "cocktails" at donnie's for a birthday so i'll always think of it well :)

i went by his home a lot on the bike route the past few years, i never knew it was where he lived

RIP! I wandered into Chester's encampment one afternoon this summer (to be honest, I thought it was some sort of art project and didn't realize I was intruding on someone's home). He came out and introduced himself, telling me about his efforts to feed his cats, among other things. He was quite friendly and I admired the way he had fashioned a space for himself. I'm glad people helped look out for him.
