i went to vegas in the middle of august and walking around in 106° heat with 9% humidity was a PLEASURE compared to nyc subway platforms this summer

radio this morning: surrounding ocean now "6 degrees warmer than normal", coral reefs expected to undergo "mass bleaching event". on land tho rain did cut the heat some last night.

46 / 115 with 70% humidity in Abu Dhabi today. I will never complain about a London summer again.

The sea is apparently too warm to swim in for portions of the day at the moment.

Everything is air conditioned and quite pleasant but even a few minutes outside, walking to metro or from car park to office, is hellish.

Are the windows always fogged up?

It is quite hard to use mobile phones for that reason. Gets fogged up in seconds and touch screen stops working.

It was 68 when we went in to get groceries last night.

It was 71 when we got back into the car.

Powerwashed the back steps though. Global warming means more water in my neck of the woods so hey.

yesterday made me sick. for real. and i wasn't even out in it much. walked home with the boys though and passed out for like an hour. so gross. like what i always imagine very wet hot places are like. like thailand or something. i was not made for weather like that. today was hot but much better. because rain last night.

Tuesday it's going to be 30'C, Monday and Wednesday much like today. Thursday back to normal. It's 28.5'C in this room now and actually I felt a bit cold earlier. My only issue is that on Tuesday I have to walk a mile and a quarter from work to the bus stop during the hottest part of the day.

Yesterday and today I have/will have walked several miles and spent hours in glasshouses watering plants (some tropical). While hungover. Phew
