wanna underline SHAMEFULLY btw

after my effusive praise upthread, shwifty felt like a comedown. its one of the weakest episodes of this or last season. I don't believe Rick would care too much about saving the world, morty's story didn't really add anything and the organised religion satire was route one of a kind that this show doesn't usually sink to. i wouldn't mind all this if the episode made me laugh but it missed that goal as well for me. it all felt a bit community s6. after 4 episodes of unadulterated joy they're due a coaster i suppose.

otoh, the song's a jam

i like this show but i rarely find it funny

I will never not laugh at the "Summer, where are my testicles" scene.

the one where they're just watching random TV tapped into something preternaturally funny for me. I could just watch that forever.

Didn't feel the last episode. I read the story "Microcosmic God" last year (also the inspiration of that Simpsons episode and that South Park episode). I think its ending hinted at recursively small worlds as well. It also has a creator who intentionally wiped out major portions of the micro population to have them evolve -- far darker than having them exercise to run a car battery. The show's B-plot was T2 kneecap shooting taken to a comedic extreme and I liked it.

I really liked this one.

he did it in penguins of madagascar too (first 5 minutes for the curious)

it was the perfect voice for that little speech.

anyway this episode was weak. nothing as inspired as the door commercial that keeps on going from the first infinite tv.

the episodes focused on dick jokes and non-sequiturs are nowhere near as good as the ones that are myth building based

I thought both TV eps were kind of weak but I did appreciate the alien How It's Made. nailed the voiceover style and the background music so perfectly

(in the 1st one I liked the extended fake doors ad, and the ~emotional twist~ was strangely affecting the first time, but it didn't stand up to a 2nd viewing. also I always appreciate a moment of Belly nostalgia obv)

I love the alien names in this show. Shrimpy Pibbles, St. Gloopy Noops hospital, Andy Daly's character a while back being called Krombopulos Michael...just all of it.

Rick's speech note -- "(trail off) (crumple up note) (ad-lib)" -- killed me.

a few clunkers (please no more non sequitur alien tv episodes) but otherwise, really a solid season.

fwiw i thought the second infinite tv episode was much funnier the second time i saw it. i guess i just rlly like throwaway jokes. anyway is season 3 really a year and a half away like they said at the end of the show?

for those of you going through withdrawal, i'm here to say that the Rick and Morty comic is aces and worth trying.

season 2 blu-ray is completely worth it for the plumbus instruction manual alone

I got about 2 minutes into that video before I realized what they were doing. That's awesome.

I binge watched season 2 a couple of weeks ago on Hulu and it was absolutely amazing. I keep telling my wife about it even though she very clearly does not GAF. "Total Rickall" and the Tiny Rick episode were better than pretty much anything else on television.

The writing on Season 2 is so, so good.

And the universe is already so well realised.

Trying to watch this from the very start but the pilot is such utter horseshit that I'm very tempted to not continue. Is there a DRASTIC improvement?

it is almost as if they thought that the very idea of teabagging was hilarious in itself and its hilarity was inexhaustible, like some frigging eternal flame. they were wrong.

it gets better but i think a lot of charm was there from the beginning. (and it's actually the kind of thing i'd be surprised if imago liked it)
