Similarly, the other day, someone I know was looking for recommendations for music to "explain to her kids what music was like before songs on the radio were only 3 minutes long, like Journey and Styx and so forth." Yeah, if anything the 3:30 average single length is up from previous decades. Especially pre-70s, when most singles were running under 3 minutes.
