Y DeCarlo and Y Craig are different people. Though it doesn't seem surprising that if you searched for Y DeCarlo you would also get Y Craig because the first name match and the the latter is all over the news now.

nickn, Wednesday, 19 August 2015 21:54 (ten years ago)

A glitch in how Yahoo is generating the info on their Yvonne Craig page (pulling Yvonne De Carlo's wiki link). nbd, it happens.

xp - but this isn't the 'Yvonne Craig' page - this is what happens when you search for Yvonne de Carlo (rather than "Yvonne de Carlo") on the news page - you get the Yvonne that's in the news who was the youngest member of The Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo - that's the search doing its job properly.

http://worldmusiccentral.org/2015/08/22/saharawi-music-star-mariem-hassan-dies-in-refugee-camps/

Mariem Hassan, one of the leading artists in the Saharawi music scene, passed away this morning, August 22, 2015, in the refugee camps near Tinduf (Algeria). “Mariem Hassan died this morning in the Saharawi refugee camps near Tinduf (Algeria), surrounded by her family,” said Manuel Dominguez, her longtime producer, manager and friend. Although she had been living in Spain for many years, she chose to spend her last days with her family in the refugee camps in the Sahara.

was going to say 'it's v sad' but then reconsidered (how can anyone presume to make such a judgment on another person's life, ultimately), i.e. that iirc he seems to have had brief intense relationship in his youth & ever since chose decades of celibacy & solitude (most of his life)

(especially such a full rich & wonderful life)

drash, Monday, 31 August 2015 02:19 (ten years ago)

(i regret bringing up that angle; this is one of the problems with biography & the crudeness/ presumptuousness of its-- one's-- my-- projections)
