I just assumed the briefcase was filled with money.

milo z (mlp), Thursday, 11 May 2006 02:45 (twenty years ago)

this ep. phew. heavy stuff and lots of

I didn't realise it was the finale! wasn't ready for it all to come to a head

so many diff things happening

didn't really like aaron being killed and duncan on a beach (just don't like duncan, really)

beav...

didn't see it coming at all. even thought veronica might be wrong, when she was first calling mac. so many fake outs. what a bad wee guy! thought the "my name is CASSIDY" was fine but it seemed designed to make you feel a bit "sorry" for him or "understand" him or "something" but he was just a bad wee guy, in the end

I don't think I have much more to say about the ep, just now!

however

___________________________________________________________________

what are most of you guys talking about?

the beach duncan was on was one in australia like they managed to make the words on the screen say as we saw him on the beach. don't think we would have been able to see kendall and her briefcase and have the opportunity to wonder what on earth could possibly be in it (I think there's a small chance that there might have been some money in it) if it had been a dream and keith were really dead

this show would not be better, for keith dying

the move to new york looks set, w/ jackie and wallace there and veronica on her way. who else will go w/? keith? logan? v possible. less likely: cliff

: (

would be a shame and I would miss characters like eli and lamb and cliff and so on. I forget that there are so many characters

yeah, logan's mum could be back and veronica's, of course. someone mentioned weevil's trial for killing thumper--I never really thought he died! thought he was tied up in a toilet somewhere else, like the fpatrick bar. would they have been able to have a telly on in somewhere primed for demolition I don't really think so. the fpatricks, too--doesn't seem like there was any kind of conclusion, there, either

maybe we could have another season, in neptune, and veronica can defer entry to stanford and work a summer and we can have our loose ends tied up and free up weevil and cliff and people to move to new york

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 May 2006 18:25 (twenty years ago)

There are no signs of a New York move. Jackie might be there, but Wallace has a scholarship in Neptune (and come on, Jackie isn't a loss to the series), Keith and Veronica are just going there on vacation.

milo z (mlp), Thursday, 11 May 2006 18:29 (twenty years ago)

oh, shit, yeah

I went on that tangent because I thought wallace would stay w/ jackie and because of that began thinking stanford was in new york and that it was all ready

I take back all my new york talk

jackie would be no great loss, no

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 May 2006 18:33 (twenty years ago)

Thumper's dead. He was tied up the restroom of a stadium that was demolished.

Not enough wonderment at my forward-thinking brane, possibly because people are hyperlink adverse, so stand in awe of me now:

I bet it was the Beave who sabotaged the bus~

c(''c) (Leee), Thursday, 11 May 2006 19:39 (twenty years ago)

I believe ~ denotes sarcasm, in some cultures

well done, though!

if thumper was in the stadium, that's a bit weird

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 May 2006 21:35 (twenty years ago)

Thumper was in the stadium - the people blowing the stadium up found his bike in the carpark, but left it there because they didn't want to postpone the demolition.

Cressida Breem (neruokruokruokne?), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:38 (twenty years ago)

I remember that

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:40 (twenty years ago)

watching that ep back, yeah, there was something about the way it was put together that made me think that thumper was watching the demolition on a telly (knowing his bike was inside) in the bathroom and he was not--he was looking up because he heard distant booms and not because he saw the demolition on a telly even though that's how it kind of looked

sorry, again!

RJG (RJG), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:47 (twenty years ago)

spoilers page on twop says next season's listed cast is as follows...

polyphonic (polyphonic), Thursday, 11 May 2006 22:59 (twenty years ago)

I like the sound of this -

Question: It seems pretty obvious that Veronica will be at Hearst College next year and the serial rapist story line will also show up again. Can you give us some other clues about what to look forward to next season? — Jessica

Thomas: The biggest news is that we will be going to a three-mystery-per-season format next year. This way, the mysteries will play uninterrupted by repeats or preemptions. We're hoping this will help us cast guest stars in smaller arcs, allow newbies to jump in easier, and lessen the too-much-going-on complaint we heard in Season 2.

milo z (mlp), Thursday, 11 May 2006 23:16 (twenty years ago)

yeah, I don't really think Keith being alive was a dream, but the end of the episode felt a little weird to me.

and yes, they fixed things so that Wallace, Veronica, and Logan will all be in Neptune next year, at the very least. Weevil will probably be in jail--sob!

horseshoe (horseshoe), Friday, 12 May 2006 05:08 (twenty years ago)

maybe cliff will be his lawyer--yay!

RJG (RJG), Friday, 12 May 2006 06:08 (twenty years ago)

four months pass...
just finished the season two dvds

with this and studio 60, i really wish i had cable

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 14:17 (nineteen years ago)

Both those shows are on free tv, don't need cable. Season 3 starts tonight I think.

svend (svend), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 15:55 (nineteen years ago)

unless he lives in an apartment (generally = shitty over-the-air reception in my experience).

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:00 (nineteen years ago)

i do need cable because that is what the service is called which brings broadcast programming into my house. i have a television but it does not have cable hooked up to it (neither literally nor figuratively) and i get no reception in my house between two hills. the whole not-having-cable thing is mostly a lifestyle choice and so, i will gladly download every episode of VM ... but especially after watching those last two S2 episodes, i would appreciate some commercial breaks, if only to catch my breath.

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:08 (nineteen years ago)

see the VM withdrawal is already making me cranky. john ennis popping up on studio 60 made me happy but the show is a distant second behind VM.

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

The ending of the last season was a bit too Scooby Doo, though.

GILLY'S BAGG'EAR VANCE OF COUPARI (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:09 (nineteen years ago)

it's true, but i appreciate them trying to keep so many balls in the air. it sounds like the S3 mini-arcs will be a nice change of pace.

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:13 (nineteen years ago)

I think it will help a lot.

GILLY'S BAGG'EAR VANCE OF COUPARI (Ex Leon), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:14 (nineteen years ago)

this does start tonight, right?

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:16 (nineteen years ago)

It starts tonight.

KOZEN LAHREE, you could just pause the downloaded videos during breaks!

Did I mention I made out w/ KB backstage once?

c('°c) (Leee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:43 (nineteen years ago)

apparently it's been streaming on MSN.com for a week.

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 16:57 (nineteen years ago)

i could smoke less crack, yes

cousin larry bundgee (bundgee), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:02 (nineteen years ago)

I just finished S1 (I got it for $20 at BestBuy) and it's sooooooooooooooo fuckin good. I just need to figger out a way to watch S2 w/o a computer or spending too much money.

less-than three's Christiane F. (drowned in milk), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:05 (nineteen years ago)

sign up for a Netflix trial and then cancel after you've gotten S2 out of the way.

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:06 (nineteen years ago)

i watched the streaming season three episode one a few days ago... if you can ignore the bizarre and unlikely happenstance of all the returning characters deciding to attend the same local college, it's good stuff.

i hate watching them on TV though... one a week! i watched the first two seasons like six or eight episodes at a time.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:43 (nineteen years ago)

Could someone link me to the stream? I can't find it.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:53 (nineteen years ago)

I think it's down now since the show premieres tonight.

milo z (mlp), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 17:56 (nineteen years ago)

Jerks.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 18:04 (nineteen years ago)

no, it's still up: click

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 18:05 (nineteen years ago)

i like the new remixed theme song.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 18:09 (nineteen years ago)

also, there's a kid in the new episode named donald fagen!

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Tuesday, 3 October 2006 19:23 (nineteen years ago)

Disappointing. Mac sucks.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:06 (nineteen years ago)

What kind of name is Piz? I ask you.

GILLY'S BAGG'EAR VANCE OF COUPARI (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:12 (nineteen years ago)

Not loving the Piz triangle, but whatshisface still makes the VM-Logan lovey-dovey scenes creepy so that's lose-lose unless she dumps/ignores them both.

Generally pretty awesome though. Bell was in fine form.

milo z (mlp), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:28 (nineteen years ago)

I could get on board if they brought back George Michael and Maebe from the Hearst (Hurst?) episode last season.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:34 (nineteen years ago)

the bizarre and unlikely happenstance of all the returning characters deciding to attend the same local college

That's not really so bizarre, depending on where you live.

Euai Kapaui (tracerhand), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:37 (nineteen years ago)

There was this really great billboard of the Veronica Mars actress (Kristen Bell, right?) down the street from me and I actually felt really sad when they took it down. I had grown accustomed to her face.

Cunga (Cunga), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 01:58 (nineteen years ago)

I think those two are coming back for part of the season, Adam.

milo z (mlp), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 02:38 (nineteen years ago)

I am underwhelmed.

polyphonic (polyphonic), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 04:05 (nineteen years ago)

That's not really so bizarre, depending on where you live.

well, the bizarreness is more to do with the characters. wallace makes sense, he got a full scholarship. but for two seasons both veronica and mac both have the "can't wait to graduate and blow this town" attitude, and after all the shit that has happened to logan in neptune, why the hell would he want to go to college there?

that said, i don't really care. logan is a dickweed, but he's great to watch. and mac is v. crushworthy.

fortunate hazel (f. hazel), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 04:10 (nineteen years ago)

Veronica doesn't have the money to go elsewhere - she's living with Pops and attending on a scholarship I think (the attendance woman was pestering her for several eps of last season, no?). Mac was also relatively broke by Neptune standards and she's coming to grips with the Beav thing, but the reasoning there is pretty thin.

I'll forgive a little deus ex machina when the other option is to throw out 90% of the cast and start out with just Veronica and Keith (actually, throw in Wallace and I'd be OK with that).

milo z (mlp), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 04:17 (nineteen years ago)

Yeah, Veronica, Keith, Wallace - that's your show right there.

The new version of the theme song suuuuuuuuucks.

The Yellow Kid (The Yellow Kid), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 07:40 (nineteen years ago)

I felt underwhelmed for the first 15 minutes, possibly due to the theme song, which is weirdly downbeat. It picked up again, though, and I'm glad to see the show back and it pretty fine form.

Me and my friends all had grand plans of escaping where we're from, but we didn't for a couple years. I don't think it's all that strange. Besides, Veronica's San Diego State money was spent on her mum. I miss the LeBaron.

The Ultimate Conclusion (lokar), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 11:22 (nineteen years ago)

For some reason I am always surprised how net savvy this show feels, through references and whatnot. It is pleasant and makes me wish to hug it and caress it a little as if we are good friends (maybe more!).

Suedey (John Cei Douglas), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 11:34 (nineteen years ago)

The theme song is trying to sound like some wack emo wuss type thing now.

GILLY'S BAGG'EAR VANCE OF COUPARI (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 12:09 (nineteen years ago)

I did like that the band they went to see was terrible and that Veronica et al acknowledged this, vs going to the Bronze and rocking out to Cibo Matto or whoever.

adam (adam), Wednesday, 4 October 2006 12:30 (nineteen years ago)

Keith got Veronica an SUV? ;_;

The show plugged Top Model? ^_^

Slash vibes between Logan and DICK? 0_o
