i get so distracted by the diagetic use of music that strikes me as hipper than the scene requires. That reminded me of the scene in "Looper" where Richard & Linda Thompson is playing in a massage parlor IN 2044

not saying its IMPOSSIBLE ray's the kind of guy who skips to track 10 of the dolls' second album when he wants to wallow alone in a pile of coke, but it's kind of like when techies lol at the rando html on a computer screen during a "hacking" sequence of a film - the specifics distract me from the intent

maybe he burned himself a "doin' coke" mix

the music seemed a little forced, but ray's charger strikes me as one of those highly specific little details (character and otherwise) that made season 1 so much fun.

well that's the thing, it's not IMPOSSIBLE, and in the broader sense he's just listening to "noisy-ass glam rock" (like how in movies the hacker is looking at "code"). but if it's not just "noisy-ass glam rock" but a specific song from a specific context to the viewer, it can raise questions it wouldn't if it was just taken as "noisy-ass glam rock".
