Last exit Iron Path sounds great but shame there's no liner notes or incidentally date of initial release that I can find.Blackfeather At tHe Mountains of Madness. Great early 70s psych/hard rock stuff which got an official remaster on the Aztec label after being delayed by the guitarist vetoing it for a while.Cold Sun Dark Shadows the World i Sound reissue or actual official issue of something that was only an acetate at the time and had a semilegit release in the interim. Nice droney psychy stuff pretty prescient of postpunk stuff possibly thanks to VU uinfluence.
Wolf Hall finally about 2/3s of the way through it and it is really good writing.Mr Robot, even if episode 5 had me seriously seeing the Tyler Durden likelihood.Fringe gone back to season 1 when it was a creepy X files reworking with a hidden subplot. Interesting to watch after having seeen the later serieses. I think i only watched it once before.Supernatural watching season 2 but somebody's bunged in a lot of Swedish subtitles to a couple of episodes which I could do without.
Not intoRotten flu still having my headspinning.Destroying my tv by trying to clean it, which leaves me thinking i could have doen this at any point over the last year and whatever.Never being able to find warranties or receipts for things despite thinking that I keep them in a central place. weather thinking its autumn not high summer, which is helping feed my cold. It's raining again right now so just as well I picked up the local paper before it became a soggy mess. Yesterday looked so promisisng too.

xp I'm not sure, it's my first time too! I keep reading opposing things that say "You have to have a VERY COARSE grind to prevent bitterness!" and other sites saying "You have to have a FINE grind for maximum surface area and to prevent weak-ass coffee!" so i mean who knows for sure.

When I saw Caribou live last year I was faded af and there were so many lights and I realized that it was the closest I would ever come to seeing Underworld or Orbital in the 90's and then he played this insanely deep 14-minute take of "Sun" and I felt like I was flying
so
A+ wd 'bou again

just became obsessed with the idea of never checking a bag, not even for internation travel. this has led to an obsession with 'travel clothes' (water repellent basics, jackets with useful pockets, non-wrinkle fabrics, moisture-wicking fabrics etc.) and double-duty cosmetics/skincare.
i'm a chronic over-packer who still manages to always forget some important thing, so i feel like this might be a healthy obsession.
i swear my bag is always one of the last ones out on the carousel. plus i hate lugging it around AND this will limit vacation-shopping abilities (i brought home 15 or 16lbs of nz junkfood last year).

just1n3 i am flying to cleveland to visit my folks on spirit airlines, they are super cheap (roundtrip was $86!!!!! crazy) but i've been warned they are pretty grotesque about charging you for basically any bags larger than a personal bag so i am excited to pack as light as possible, i am going to see if i can just bring a tote bag and keep it super minimal

Marcos, I've looked at spirit, and they are the devil - I don't think their super cheap flights are worth the stress of flying with them. They're infamous for delays, which is just a fucking nightmare to me.
― just1n3, Tuesday, 1 September 2015 15:45 (ten years ago)
yea i am little nervous and was hesitant, but
1) i'm flying by myself, not w/ my kids, so that's a relief and i can tolerate higher stress flying w/o them2) i got an early morning flight on the way there, so hopefully delay less likely3) i'm a little concerned about the return flight which is at the end of the day and a delay would prob mean flying out the next day, but then my folks could just pick me up and i could stay at their place
$86 was too good to pass up but we'll see how it goes
― marcos, Tuesday, 1 September 2015 15:50 (ten years ago)
Yeah I agree, in your situation it's worth the risk.

what are some of yr favorite carb-replacement strategies or foods that you rely on to satisfy you the way carbs did?
― Y Kant Max Read (Stevie D(eux)), Tuesday, 1 September 2015 23:28 (ten years ago)
not dominique, but i've been trying the low carb thing for a couple months, and carbs only satisfy for a short time anyway - fat and protein will fill you up and keep you satiated. i was kinda surprised how easy it's become in general, once you accept you can't have potatoes/bread/pasta/rice every day of the week (which i have always typically thought of as the base of a meal).
it's a great excuse to never cook - i just eat big simple salads with chicken and vinaigrette, maybe with a hardboiled egg or some cheese.
― just1n3, Wednesday, 2 September 2015 00:03 (ten years ago)
caffeine and uh, nicotine are your basic anti-carbs
― μpright mammal (mh), Wednesday, 2 September 2015 01:26 (ten years ago)
have always had coffee in the morning, but these days just eating a lot of salad, chicken, steak on Sundays, almonds. I cook a stir fry with lots of vegetables and whatever meat I want. I never drank soda much, and basically just cutting out stuff like sandwiches, pizza, burritos, etc. It's not like I'm eating NO carbs (still eat fruit, hummus, carrots), but I'm finding there is stuff I like with small amounts.
