lots of upscale urban liberal hot button stuff but not much in the way of anything else that i've seen? not like i pay super close attn tho

the last thing i remember is during the '12 election cycle when her big issue was a move to shame the army out of spending $x million advertising/sponsoring a nascar team

goole, Wednesday, 29 July 2015 16:50 (ten years ago)

Ugh, this lion is the biggest story in local media here since Adrian Peterson. I am already so over it.

Norse Jung (Eric H.), Wednesday, 29 July 2015 18:25 (ten years ago)

i can't imagine trying to move 1 pixel to shame this asshole, let alone go to his office with a mean note, christ

then again i can't imagine having a lion in my sights and not wanting to let him keep living

goole, Wednesday, 29 July 2015 18:50 (ten years ago)

that depends entirely on if the lion is about to eat my face; I can imagine not wanting him to keep living in that specific scenario, much like I can imagine wanting to kill a shark if it's trying to gnaw on me

I go out of my way to kill hornets because fuck hornets, but that's pretty much where I draw the line.

http://www.theguardian.com/cities/2015/aug/04/insiders-cultural-guide-minneapolis-band

Collegiate girls often wear Northface jackets, leggings, yoga pants, Columbia Sportswear. Some have a crust punk, Diablo Cody-esque look: asymmetrical haircuts, septum piercings, bandanas worn around the neck for no real reason, ripped jorts, etc. If you go downtown, you’ll see a lot of suits. On the West Bank, where Somalis live — Minneapolis has one of the largest Somali populations in the diaspora— a lot of the young women wear outfits purchased at the local Somali mall and mocked in various #StarterKit memes on Twitter. There’s no uniform but everyone looks comfortable.

in case you forgot what an understatement was like

I mean, I sort of understand having grown up south of HSTNGS, but OTOH HSTNGS is terrible

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Thursday, 17 September 2015 21:50 (ten years ago)

I will say though that at choir competitions and at All-State the kids I vibed the most with were from Lakeville, partially because they were SUPER FILTHY

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Thursday, 17 September 2015 21:51 (ten years ago)

lol i have lived here most of 15 years and i still barely have any idea where edina and eden prairie are

roseville i got pretty okay

j., Thursday, 17 September 2015 21:52 (ten years ago)

I grew up there and I continually confuse Roseville with Rosemount

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Thursday, 17 September 2015 21:54 (ten years ago)

(Edina is west of Bloomington, Eden Prairie is west of Edina)

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Thursday, 17 September 2015 21:54 (ten years ago)

as a tourist I am vaguely aware as I have driven through/past them in search of the IKEA next to the big mall

μpright mammal (mh), Thursday, 17 September 2015 22:00 (ten years ago)

Grew up literally blocks from the border of Roseville (lake como) so for me Roseville basically is the platonic suburb

banned on ixlor (Jon not Jon), Thursday, 17 September 2015 23:02 (ten years ago)

i only know where woodbury and cottage grove are. edina and wayzata, too, i guess because you have to know your enemy

all other suburbs are terra nullis imo

jason waterfalls (gbx), Friday, 18 September 2015 00:28 (ten years ago)

Little shaky on suburbs north of Twin Cities because my internal jukebox goes a bit Sergio Leone when reminded of Anoka County, and same goes for a lot of places around Shakopee/Savage which were farmy when I was little, but could probably win the 'name the most towns around Lake Minnetonka' challenge if pressed. So many semi-rural places have been added to the exurb sprawl, it's hard to keep track if you're from a first-ring place like St Louis Park.

voodoo rage (suzy), Friday, 18 September 2015 04:32 (ten years ago)

Grew up in Burnsville, and confuse Lakeville and Prior Lake. Though I'm glad to see "the gem of Lakeville" and my special-occasion place growing up The Chart House is still around.

half the staying power of Erasure (Eazy), Friday, 18 September 2015 05:17 (ten years ago)

i like to think prior lake was named because the white explorers were rolling through coming up with names and it looked just like the prior lake

goole, Friday, 18 September 2015 06:33 (ten years ago)
