Driving across Missouri recently I saw both "Chitty Insurance" (as in "Can't get your car insured elsewhere? Get Chitty Insurance!") and Uranus Fudge Factory.

I might like you better if we Yelped together (Phil D.), Sunday, 26 July 2015 21:16 (ten years ago)

Uranus Fudge Factory was formerly Big Louie's Burlesque Saloon, so the classiness of this Route 66 stop has definitely jumped.

The SquoZen 1 (lemonade and infusions)

― nickn, Friday, 24 July 2015 22:20 (4 days ago) Bookmark Flag Post Permalink

Hey to be honest the way you've written there is far more offensive than what appears on his cart, but still.

écorché (S-), Tuesday, 28 July 2015 06:02 (ten years ago)

I first saw it in an online flyer for an event, and it was done that way ("SquoZen 1"). When I found the guy's website to get a picture I noticed it wasn't done that way, but I figured at some point he must have used that so I went with it. I admit it's possible that was entirely the work of the flyer designer.

"Cretin Homes" stretches so far for the pun, I can't help but love it

Heroic melancholy continues to have a forceful grip on (bernard snowy), Tuesday, 28 July 2015 15:19 (ten years ago)

passed this optician in west London the other day: http://www.eyekew.co.uk/

In the same field, I don't think this counts as a pun but it does qualify as horribly formed: http://www.kingscrosseyes.com

Tim, Thursday, 6 August 2015 05:25 (ten years ago)

IDG Cretin Homes :/

I checked Snoops , and it is for real (Trayce), Thursday, 6 August 2015 09:40 (ten years ago)

i'm guessing it's supposed to sound like creating homes?

feargal czukay (NickB), Thursday, 6 August 2015 09:43 (ten years ago)

I was in Ayr recently, and spotted a music shop called Ayr Guitar. Which is not horribly-formed at all.

ailsa, Thursday, 6 August 2015 10:11 (ten years ago)

Are these Total gas station shop names supposed to be a pun or something? I just don't get it, sor'ry.

Passed a salon yesterday called "FACIAL NAIL WAXING." I can only assume it's for unicorns only.

Orson Wellies (in orbit), Tuesday, 11 August 2015 13:21 (ten years ago)

Aren't there usually two n's in grillennium?

jmm, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 13:46 (ten years ago)

There's a legal w33d store here named "WE'RE JUST BUDS" which is stupid enough but now they have a big "get your concentrates here!" which I like to think exists because people, for some reason, were under the impression that they only sold buds.

joygoat, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 13:59 (ten years ago)

Missed the word "sign" there after the concentrates quote

joygoat, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 14:00 (ten years ago)

"WE'RE JUST BUDS is now MORE THAN BUDS!"

StanM, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 15:04 (ten years ago)

last week i had to search my own Flickr and change like eight or ten texts where I'd unthinkingly done it with one "N." sigh.

Gorefest Frump (Doctor Casino), Tuesday, 11 August 2015 15:07 (ten years ago)

I keep noticing car washes called Bubble & Squeak throughout my region, maybe not a terrible name but it makes me think of tasty shallow fried leftovers and doesn't seem appropriate.

xelab, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 15:30 (ten years ago)

guys cretin homes isn't a pun it is the last name of the proprietors and also they are homes for cretins

adam, Tuesday, 11 August 2015 16:54 (ten years ago)

There's no stopping the Cretins from housing.

About the 'Massive Discocunts' sign, but the only reference is from the Welsh version of the onion. http://www.walesoncraic.com/

The other day at work though I received this from the classifieds department from a major newspaper.

Thankyou for your payment
I have passed this onto the acocunts department.

écorché (S-), Friday, 4 September 2015 07:29 (ten years ago)

massive discocunts is clearly shopped but seemed worth sharing
