I would still bet that Apple's smartwatch is the best and most user-friendly

If you're already heavily invested into the apple ecosystem, then yes, it's going to be the best.

I just love the cycle of bigger smartphones that keep growing until they maximize practical screen size and then introducing a tiny little screen for your wrist that accesses your now giant cell phone. Eventually phones will grow to the size of computers, the watch will grow to the size of current phones, and they'll have to introduce something small to access your watch and phone and computer.

funny thing about the watch is it's such a limited, semi-sealed system right now. there are a bunch of applications that use it, but I haven't seen many that are introducing brave new interaction schemes or anything

so websites are writing doofy articles like "whoa did you know the side button can do all these things"

tbh the best part of it is you can ignore it 99% of the time and it's there passively monitoring and reacting

if you could (can?) use it for public transit passes it would be nice since I don't want to have my phone super easily accessible on the metro etc, and I've had my card pickpocketed before too

otoh I could just get pants with a pocket zipper

I use sling tv (the dish network-over-internet service), hulu, netflix, amazon prime, youtube, plex, and on very rare occasions broadcast television

I'd imagine all the companies that have video streaming apps on iPhone/iPad will just submit a version for the new Apple TV box

about 2/3 of those are already on Apple TV but the experience is mediocre compared to the (Amazon) Fire TV or even just the iPad version

main prob is Apple TV is severely underpowered

I don't want all that shit baked into my tv! I think it might be a mindset thing, but few people do, since televisions work well as a dumb screen and no one wants to replace the whole tv when you can upgrade a little box instead

I mean, arguably they do sell televisions since most kids (and some adults I know) don't use an actual television and just have an iMac or tablet or w/e

as an owner of a top of the line tivo, all this universal search / predictive content / apps / content not network focus stuff is what I've been doing for the past two years
i recommend it highly

but i don't need ANOTHER set top box doing the same thing

even the cheap TV i have gets apps and what do those apps do other then take you to content that you then just watch anyways like a normal TV xxp

the UI is maybe not the best but i'm not watching that

I was using a Roku til it crapped out, then a Fire TV and now an XBox One. I do miss iTunes access and if I were an iTunes Music subscriber I'd definitely add one of these, but I don't know that "rent movies on iTunes instead of Amazon" is a $100 selling point.
