idk as far as lasting impact goes, it feels like when the self-proclaimed "bold / fearless / uncompromising" editorial direction of your main site becomes the greatest liability to your parent company's bottom line, maybe the site might change significantly, maybe become more of a decentralized group of affiliated sites without a "journalistic" flagship
