corpulent. scent of bourbon. flatulent.
really hope this was the character note they sent out to casting directors.
― pandemic, Thursday, 23 July 2015 13:42 (ten years ago)
still really enjoying this. macadams in her sexual harassment seminar. "no, let her speak" etc
― pandemic, Thursday, 23 July 2015 13:43 (ten years ago)
"no, let her speak" etc
^^that was really funny
― Ma$e-en-scène (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Thursday, 23 July 2015 13:57 (ten years ago)
have the feeling we might see her carve up some people with knives shortlyand possibly being brutalized while undercoverlikely both
― you are extreme, Patti LuPone. (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:40 (ten years ago)
because what this show is lacking is an "i spit on your grave" subplot
― you are extreme, Patti LuPone. (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:41 (ten years ago)
eh, i think nic pizza for all his flaws is not interested in giving his critics that particular type of ammunition, and while that's not the greatest motivation to avoid that type of horrific story possibility (to say the least) i imagine it will prevent him from that type of major gaffe
― slothroprhymes, Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:50 (ten years ago)
i do kinda want to see her carve some people up with knives tbh, ideally gross men, just not after being brutalized in an i spit on yr grave/exploitation-revenge-flick way obviously
― slothroprhymes, Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:52 (ten years ago)
the previews are certainly trolling that direction
― you are extreme, Patti LuPone. (forksclovetofu), Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:56 (ten years ago)
right yea she's def gonna go in and try to get propositioned or w/e and then hopefully start slicing some ankles a la the bride
i'm guessing that this ep will def have the orgy scene that was alluded to in various news items that came from the set during shooting
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Thursday, 23 July 2015 14:58 (ten years ago)
that'll liven things up
― ryan, Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:01 (ten years ago)
longhaired david morse spiritually leading an orgy

if i could have given pizzolatto script notes i would have said: lose the paul character (unless he pays off big somehow), make Frank in his 60s (to the extent that trying to have a kid seems like a sad stab at extending his youth/life), and way more of the new age cult stuff.
and sprinkle orgies around liberally.
― ryan, Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:08 (ten years ago)
who's paul
tim riggins?
― j., Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:09 (ten years ago)
yessir
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:11 (ten years ago)
shoulda made a whole thematic abt him tryin to be 'on the bike'
seems that was dropped
― j., Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:19 (ten years ago)
A key line in the scene with his girlfriend and her mom was the mom saying "oh, no more bike for you."
Orgy scene needs Rick Springfield with an eyepatch and a cast on one arm.
― ... (Eazy), Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:50 (ten years ago)
that's not enough bike
why can't we get the bike we deserve
― j., Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:51 (ten years ago)
because we deserve /not/ to get it that's the whole point of the show
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Thursday, 23 July 2015 15:54 (ten years ago)
You'd think he would still be tempted to do more lights-off bike rides.

As Ad Age reported earlier, scripted is faring little better. In fact, the highest rated summer scripted series on television is HBO's non-ad supported "True Detective," which is managing a 1.2 on Sunday nights. Top scripted broadcast honors are shared by Fox's "Wayward Pines" and CBS' "Zoo" and "Under the Dome," all of which are averaging a 1.1 in the 18-49 demo.

I didn't think apoplectic was that uncommon a word (it def is for a vaughn type unless we found out he aggressively self-educated), but then again I'm a writing major who's almost 30 :/
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:12 (ten years ago)
not sure ive ever heard anyone say it in any way that approaches natural, ive read it a shit load of times
― lag∞n, Friday, 24 July 2015 00:13 (ten years ago)
Yeah I've never heard someone say apoplectic out loud
― Ma$e-en-scène (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:16 (ten years ago)
I think I said it in a meeting once to describe a client's state of extreme rage at the work they'd just received, but yea it's usually something I've read or written
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:18 (ten years ago)
incidentally, one of my favorite words
I say it all the time!
― ryan, Friday, 24 July 2015 00:24 (ten years ago)
incidentally I now say "louche" too, thanks to this show.
fictional characters with unrealistically broad vocabularies is a good thing imo
― ryan, Friday, 24 July 2015 00:25 (ten years ago)
i have 100% said apoplectic aloud multiple times but then again i am odious
― (extremely nerds voice) (Clay), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:26 (ten years ago)
The Internet was much kinder to the Sopranos characters who always fucked up the words and phrases they were trying to think of.
― ... (Eazy), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:30 (ten years ago)
the best is when tony scoffs at melfis vocabulary then flubs trying to use it two eps later
― lag∞n, Friday, 24 July 2015 00:31 (ten years ago)
I will never forget little carmine in the sopranos saying he was concerned about dysentery in the ranks
― extremely lag∞n postings voice (slothroprhymes), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:35 (ten years ago)
I've always known louche as a word and what it meant but I was never 100 on whether it was loosh or lowsh
― Ma$e-en-scène (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:38 (ten years ago)
oh shit which is it again?
― ryan, Friday, 24 July 2015 00:40 (ten years ago)
loosh it's french
― resulting post (rogermexico.), Friday, 24 July 2015 00:42 (ten years ago)
literarily always thought it was lowsh luckily i wld never say it
