Me too, especially since I'd already read Slate's evisceration of Armada (and hated RP1), but I read on out of morbid curiosity - I wanted to experience the thought process of someone who could make a statement like that and mean it.

i mean look, that's fine, and yes i went ahead and read the whole thing for the same reason, but someone who counts RP1 among their favorite books has no business writing about books

Is this definitely blackmail? The story doesn't say that Ryan threatened Geithner. He says he went to Gawker for publicity. It could be (a) the threat was implicit, or (b) Gawker doesn't want to highlight that they're helping a blackmailer. I'm not sure how explicit these threats normally are.

Yeah, okay, I was confused by this sentence, thinking that he meant going to Gawker in order to publicize his case: "Ryan says that he has no vendetta against Geithner specifically—instead, he just wants to publicize his case against HUD."

J0rdan also failed to warn the escort to take down that dick pic from his website before the story ran, so now his identity, too, has been revealed.

it did seem kind of funnily naive to believe the escort wouldn't quickly be identified too (naive on the part of the escort, anyway, i imagine gawker realized that and didn't care)
