THANK YOU

example (crüt), Tuesday, 7 July 2015 14:54 (ten years ago)

where's that thread addressing people who say you can't hate best selling books/movies but love pop music?

The burrito of ennui (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 9 July 2015 12:16 (ten years ago)

this one?

Why are there far fewer advocates for popism/poptimism related to art forms OTHER than music?

soref, Thursday, 9 July 2015 12:19 (ten years ago)

YES. Thanks.

TAKING SIDES: HUMMUS VS. GUACAMOLE

1staethyr, Tuesday, 21 July 2015 04:58 (ten years ago)

huh why did that not come up when I searched either word, weird. thanks!

usic ally (k3vin k.), Tuesday, 21 July 2015 05:53 (ten years ago)

one month passes...

1. there was a thread where people were recounting the worst things they'd ever done to another human being. most people posted lameshit like "I cheated on my girlfriend lol", but then someone posted a long gruesome story about how they nearly killed one of their childhood friends by placing an obstruction in front of their bike tire as they rode down a hill.

2. there was a thread where people were recounting their encounters with celebrities. someone claimed to have met Van Morrison in a bathroom, and the stench emanating from Van's stall was so bad that they basically concluded (and several other posters concurred) that Van's life was no longer worth living.

scarlett bohansson (unregistered), Saturday, 12 September 2015 03:17 (ten years ago)

found #2! (but not #1):

I once sat in the next cubicle to Van Morrison as he grunted his way thru a really big shit - anyone whos insides smell that bad must be medically dead.

I googled something the other day and one of those dude's faces came up. I almost forgot they were real.

pplains, Wednesday, 16 September 2015 20:03 (ten years ago)

there was a thread where someone posted a great link by some science/tech blogger about why tech guys are so bad at politics or figuring out political solutions, since they try to act like there's some rational middleground between left and right positions ... I have no idea what the thread subject was (tech bros? libertarians? climate change?) and I can't remember the name of the blog.

ring a bell with anyone?

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 23 September 2015 18:42 (ten years ago)

i forget what the thread was but it was a vox article

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 23 September 2015 19:44 (ten years ago)

definitely similar viewpoints imo

μpright mammal (mh), Wednesday, 23 September 2015 20:58 (ten years ago)

yeah in their case I think the "we make fun of everybody!" defense reinforces a false equivalency

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 23 September 2015 21:03 (ten years ago)

we make fun of everyone, black, white, poor, rich, purple

I used to be poor and purple when I was young!

can somebody point me towards the thread where people were inventing nonsense platitudes and idioms in the vein of 'he who looks a raven in the eye on a thursday will let Friday's porridge oats go cold'?

canoon fooder (dog latin), Friday, 2 October 2015 09:02 (ten years ago)

make up some fake, inscrutable adages and post them here

fappy board (wins), Friday, 2 October 2015 09:11 (ten years ago)

thx

canoon fooder (dog latin), Friday, 2 October 2015 10:50 (ten years ago)

on the "artist picture facebook" image macro laff thread there was one a year or so ago that was particularly good: something like, "if a woman walks away, she's either..." and then there were like 3 things that were nonsensically and ungrammatically listed and very grim or at least uninspirational. like, screaming or dying inside was one of them?

anyone?

goole, Monday, 12 October 2015 15:01 (ten years ago)

You remember "This is dog" ?

There was a photostrip thing which had captions, from "Dracula" Gary oldman, can't find it

Last time I looked, I found the movie clip instead.

You know, .. "It's A Joke!"

j., Wednesday, 20 January 2016 17:37 (ten years ago)

Is the West Experiencing a Right-Wing Drift?

Mordy, Wednesday, 20 January 2016 18:06 (ten years ago)

naw, i'm sure i'm thinking of an ideas thread not a reality thread

j., Wednesday, 20 January 2016 20:20 (ten years ago)

Thread about the miseries of being tall? Lots of banging heads on things. Only other participant I can remember is Carl Agatha.

how's life, Friday, 8 April 2016 22:52 (ten years ago)

I hate being a tall man in a small world

soref, Friday, 8 April 2016 23:31 (ten years ago)
