an algorithm that automatically deletes a post from its original contest after someone copies & pastes into one of the excelsior/o_O/pvmic/trenchant/zing threads

...and an algorithm that automatically moves a post to its originally intended context after someone posts it in the 'posts you had second thought about' thread

...oh, and an algorithm that automatically responds to fart/wordplay threads. if you start a thread called 'itt put butt in the band name', ILX System will immediately flood the thread with 100000 Rae Butt/Fetty Butt/Speedy Butt posts and lock it when it runs out of permutations (which should take less than a second, seeing as it's an algorithm). same goes for threads asking for avant-prog youtube embeds or albums with no filler.

an update to zing that farts out of your phone whenever someone posts to a bookmarked thread and smells really bad

in order for it to fart, whoever posts to the bookmarked thread has to smell really bad, just to make that clear. this is going to take some advanced sensor tech

y'know, you could put an end to all the max and j0rdan handwringing by simply banning all semi-famous ilxors (so...whiney, buzza, steve tyler, unregistered...) from 77 and purging some of their more embarrassing posts from the public boards. maybe you could throw in a Celebrity link next to the Flag Post link so we could 51 certain posters *for their own well-being* once they'd risen above a certain fame threshold.

alternately, you could rig certain people's accounts so that Gawker would automatically reprint any of their posts containing certain salacious word strings (booty flakes, rimming, cheating on my wife, really liking the new Wilco). celeb-ilxors would get a warning (similar to the HTML and xpost alerts) if they tried to post scandalous content ('you're pretty famous brah, you sure you want to post this?), but if they ignored the warning, anything they posted would be fair game for the tabloids.

We've never had a former president that was either special-dark or semi-sweet, highly doubting any of this.

with stet mentioning the hassles of funding the site i was wondering if a rolling voluntary sub style model a la patreon had been considered, presumably less administratively demanding than periodic fundraisers altho that may be wrong, i have no clue.

I think this one occurs to me out of the blue every year or so.

and every other login id theyve used as well

not enormously important but the board new answers link on each thread on SNA ("last updated n minutes ago by username on <board>") links to the www-less hostname from the www version of the SNA page, which is confusing when you think you're logged in and suddenly you're logged out

sorry if this is wrong thread, did not seem like a mod request or a protest either. thank you for reading

if we're just not meant to use the www version of the URL any more, hmm, that's doable but will take some clearing of browser and muscle memory

btw it's been doing this for a week or two or maybe more as I wasn't logging in much for a while but I forgot to say so

and if it hasn't bothered anyone else in that time it's p. low priority obv

frequently, clicking on a link in a thread sends me back to the top of the thread i'm already in. a second click on the link then takes me where it's supposed to. this has been happening for months - not a big deal, but i'm curious now. me? ILX? or mozilla?
