Due to Con Edison related power problems affecting signals at Jay St-MetroTech, the following service changes are in effect:

Southbound F Subway Line trains terminate at Jay St-MetroTech.

Northbound F Subway Line trains terminate at 4 Av-9 St.

There is no F Subway Line train service between 4 Av-9 St and Jay St-MetroTech in both directions.

Some southbound F Subway Line trains are running on the C Subway Line Icon line from Jay St-MetroTech to Euclid Av.

Some F Subway Line trains are running on the D Subway Line Icon line between W 4 St-Washington Square and Coney Island-Stillwell Av in both directions.

Some southbound F Subway Line trains terminate at 2 Av.

There is no G Subway Line train service between Church Av and Bedford-Nostrand Avs in both directions.

Southbound N Subway Line trains are running on the R Subway Line Icon line from Canal St to DeKalb Av.

Expect delays on the A Subway Line, C Subway Line, D Subway Line, F Subway Line Icon, G Subway Line, N Subway Line and R Subway Line trains in both directions.

It's going to take me 3 hours to get home but I did stop for pizza in Ft Greene.

The only reason I didn't bike today is I thought it was going to thunderstorm all morning and now it turns out I would have saved myself 2 hours of drinking time. Fuck me.

there are too many generic outer borough stations, like I can't remember which far out brooklyn/bronx stops I've gotten on and which I haven't. the only queens ones I'm missing are gonna be random rockaways stops, the only manhattan ones would be one or two random harlem stops maybe. I actually made it a point to visit every paris metro stop when I lived there, but outer borough ny stations are generic enough that it's not worth the trouble.

I don't think I've done a number of Manhattan stops north of 96th if I'm remembering correctly. Also hardly anything in the Bronx really.

I wish I went to every metro stop in paris. next time...

fucked-up R train bullshit

So the N line in South Brooklyn runs on two outer tracks, served by old and decrepit station platforms, with two apparently defunct inner tracks going unused.

Right now at my station they're building a wooden deck over the unused inner tracks, apparently to make a temporary passenger platform while they work on the old ones? Excited to see this happen one day at a time! I should start taking pics so I can get some enterprising ilxor to make them into a time-lapse gif later, obviously.

I hope everyone saw the article that said updating the signal system on all the tracks will take A CENTURY.
