I think you're overrating the abilities of a one handed man a bit is all, albeit largely bc nothing motivates anyone like religious fury

also the remaining kingsguard are largely useless

when people were saying at the beginning of the season that religion was going to start playing a bigger part on the show, I didn't know that meant religious dudes were going to take over and put everyone in dungeons

Too much credit? I mean it's pretty clear that's what they're going for. The scenes in King's Landing have always explored power dynamics on some level.

They haven't done too much heavy signposting here but #occupybaelorscrypt has been pretty on the nose.

In a similar vein to what you were saying, Jamie as somebody that administers violence as his day job would have instinctively understood why arming the faith militant is an insanely bad idea when they draw from a much larger and less controllable recruiting pool (poor people) than the Kingsguard and gold cloaks (people the crown can afford to pay).

The only scenes I really liked in this episode were those between the High Sparrow and Diana Rigg/Cersei. Jonathan Pryce is a great addition to the cast, and I'm now kind of on his side in wanting to overthrow the corrupt nobility.

He's clearly actually a bit of a wanker though.

They are good at killing people, also hot.

Anyway they and Bronn are probably going to team up and escape.

Most of that scene makes sense eventually if you give it enough thought but then you ask yourself why you're working so hard to justify tits on HBO.

Actually I predict her and Bronn are going to get it on, and he'll have to choose between her and a quiet life in a big castle with his frumpy bride.

Clearly they're setting up a spin-off with Bronn and the Sand Snakes solving crimes and generally getting into mischief in Dorne.

Going to be a bit of a u-turn given she was previously talking about starving everyone in King's Landing, which would really not work to the benefit of a 13-year old king with no advisors who just wants to have sex five times a night. But given she's back on Team Littlefinger it's highly likely she will, given he is hardly one to look a gift king in the mouth.

She was really pissed off when she said that, don't think she ever meant to go through with it.

I agree she was pissed off, which to me means she REALLY meant to go through with it.

It was the second time she's talked about it in two episodes, I'm pretty sure she'd go ahead with it, given she, y'know, KILLED THE KING.

I didn't make the connection it was Jonathan Pryce playing the high sparrow(sp?) - haven't seen him in anything since Brazil.

The last time I saw him was playing Cardinal Wolsey in Wolf Hall so it was a very small leap for my mind to make.

I like him in Glengarry Glenross.

Been meaning to go see him in Merchant Of Venice at The Globe too.

Important to remember who she was threatening there and what she was trying to achieve.

I don't doubt that if she truly believed starving the city would secure the release of her grandkids she'd do it but sparrow dude correctly points out why that would probably backfire.
