Oh, man, that video has some moments. That fist chenching thing he does to denote extra sincerity? Hott. Or when he calls her, sings to her, then just hangs up? That's so smooth.

Lara will be informed at the earliest opportunity. I would not be surprised if marriage was the end-result.

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 08:24 (twenty-one years ago)

I will only marry Lionel Richie. Spencer, your thread has completed me.

Lara (Lara), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 09:06 (twenty-one years ago)

This thread reminds me of the doco on Hells Angels last night, with a cameo by Ray Parker Jr telling the story of how he got caught up in the middle of the biggest ever biker gang riot. Ray Parker Jr!

Markelby (Mark C), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 09:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Now I want to try to make one!

stevie (stevie), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 12:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Finally! Now, I'll sleep better at night knowing there's a clay Lionel head out there. Oh, what a feeling.

Sarah McLusky (coco), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 12:41 (twenty-one years ago)

Clay Irene Cara head to thread!

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 12:42 (twenty-one years ago)

The sponge is just there to support Lionel's huge jaw.

ken c (ken c), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 12:43 (twenty-one years ago)

If that Lionel head was made out of refried beans it would be the most killer chip-dip at any party ever in the history of the world.

Je4nne ƒury (Jeanne Fury), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 13:00 (twenty-one years ago)

Ken haha that made me chortle too

Ste (Fuzzy), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 13:04 (twenty-one years ago)

Can you imagine a Lionel Richie cookie jar? I want to serve cookies out of his head.

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:12 (twenty-one years ago)

Nicole, you are an inspired genius. :-)

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:13 (twenty-one years ago)

If that Lionel head was made out of refried beans it would be the most killer chip-dip at any party ever in the history of the world.

That was exactly what I was thinking.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

It would also make an interesting cat food bowl.

M. White (Miguelito), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:17 (twenty-one years ago)

It would! It would probably scare my dog though, he's kind of skittish.

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:30 (twenty-one years ago)

my friend made a tom jones cookie jar head.

jill schoelen is the queen of my dreams! (Homosexual II), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:42 (twenty-one years ago)

Bring Me The Clay Head of Lionel Richie!

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Last year I was stopped in the street by a camera crew who asked me what I would do if I won a million pounds. I gave them a really dull answer - that I'd go on holiday - then the old staircase spirit took hold and I realised I should have said I'd track down Lionel Richie's clay head and pay whatever it took to be its owner. Maybe one day I will get another chance. Maybe I should use the million to buy a shedload of clay.

Madchen (Madchen), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 14:54 (twenty-one years ago)

Build a Lionel Richie head FAP anyone?

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:41 (twenty-one years ago)

!!!

Oh my god, I think you have determined the theme for the next one.

Ned Raggett (Ned), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

Also, in the future, any revivings of this thread should be started by posting "Hello?". Thanks.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:43 (twenty-one years ago)

You know, most people in random internet pics are annoying, but I think I'd like this guy:

Also, Go Bears.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

You can now see what they teach us in those UC Berkeley American Studies seminars!!!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Educational funds well spent.

Leon Jones Reynolds (Ex Leon), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 15:47 (twenty-one years ago)

For some reason, even the "Click on image to see large version" captions are cracking me up.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:15 (twenty-one years ago)

whoa, this one is weird:
http://www.frontiermodels.co.uk/images/products/Mace.jpg
there's a drag element to this one - like it's a bust of RuPaul or something.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:26 (twenty-one years ago)

There's something on another thread I think you should see

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:28 (twenty-one years ago)

I know, I posted that pic before but never looked at where it was from.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

wait, that's a link in this thread(?)

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:32 (twenty-one years ago)

But isn't that an insoluble paradox, one of the Starship-computer-destroying variety?

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:40 (twenty-one years ago)

Actually, I just wanted to quote the last line of the video, as I remember it.

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:41 (twenty-one years ago)

I don't think I get it.

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:44 (twenty-one years ago)

Now you understand the joys have having your own thread!

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:45 (twenty-one years ago)

Yes! Good point!

Spencer Chow (spencermfi), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 16:49 (twenty-one years ago)

Sorry, just messing with you. Isn't the dénouement of the "Hello" video the sculpture teaching telling LR "There's something in the other room I think you should see"? At which point we see the famous objet d'art that inspired this thread? Or, more accurately, we see the famous objet d'art that inspired the beloved objet d'art that inspired this thread.

(xpost)

Ken L (Ken L), Wednesday, 27 April 2005 17:14 (twenty-one years ago)

OK! Now I get it, very good!
