Aw, the little Kenan tag at the end reminded me that I'm going to miss him on SNL. ;_;

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 19:32 (eleven years ago)

Kenan is not leaving, though

Mr. Murphy in the wine bar. (Sufjan Grafton), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 20:20 (eleven years ago)

Oh, good!

Johnny Fever, Wednesday, 13 May 2015 21:22 (eleven years ago)

he jokes a bit about that rumor on maron

Mr. Murphy in the wine bar. (Sufjan Grafton), Wednesday, 13 May 2015 21:28 (eleven years ago)

Louis C.K. bits on racism and on pedophiles didn't work too well

curmudgeon, Sunday, 17 May 2015 21:05 (eleven years ago)

yeah that set had like one good line and otherwise was just... flat

entry-level umami (mild bleu cheese vibes) (s.clover), Sunday, 17 May 2015 21:51 (eleven years ago)

SNL studio audiences are dumb as fuck tho

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Monday, 18 May 2015 00:20 (eleven years ago)

I thought the routine was kind of dumb

curmudgeon, Monday, 18 May 2015 14:41 (eleven years ago)

I liked it but wasn't as "shocking" in light of an Aziz routine from a few years ago on the same topic.

dan selzer, Monday, 18 May 2015 14:54 (eleven years ago)

two weeks pass...

Tracy Morgan hosting October 17.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Monday, 17 August 2015 17:26 (ten years ago)

Watched the Chris Farley doc the other night, I thought it was decent.

lol @ the millienials

johnny crunch, Sunday, 4 October 2015 19:08 (ten years ago)

I like Leslie Jones but it's starting to creep me out that all she gets to do on this show is be SCARY OVERSEXED BLACK WOMAN

Οὖτις, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:23 (ten years ago)

Man, the parts of this week's ep I caught were so, so bad.

Retro novelty punk (Dan Peterson), Monday, 12 October 2015 21:29 (ten years ago)

I agree with both comments.

The best part by far was Kyle Mooney's brief turn as the Dutch backpack rapper in the city council sketch. Another one of his closely observed character bits that is sure to be appreciated by ~.001% of the audience.

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:50 (ten years ago)

The Delta Airlines skit needed an ending but it did make me chuckle.

I Am Curious (Dolezal) (DJP), Monday, 12 October 2015 21:50 (ten years ago)

Mooney is awesome.

schwantz, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:50 (ten years ago)

yes dude is underrated

Οὖτις, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:51 (ten years ago)

Yeah that rapper bit was awesome. His characters don't generally seem to have the simple/loud quality that makes a "classic" SNL character, but that's fine with me.

schwantz, Monday, 12 October 2015 21:59 (ten years ago)

I will say this about Mooney--whenever he's in live sketches, and not playing some weird character, he delivers all his lines with these unnatural stock inflections. He makes everyone sound like sort of a dialed-back version of his hack comedian character Bruce Chandling. It's like the one thing he can't play is a normal person speaking normally.

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:02 (ten years ago)

I love him BTW

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:03 (ten years ago)

Probably my favorite Kyle Mooney thing, this pre-SNL "Inside Socal" bit:

JRN, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:10 (ten years ago)

I love that one.

si monvmentvm reqvires, pvmpkin spice (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Monday, 12 October 2015 22:26 (ten years ago)

haha wow

Οὖτις, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:29 (ten years ago)

those old inside so cals nail that dirtbike dc shoe culture so well. better than alpha dog.

chaki (kurt schwitterz), Monday, 12 October 2015 22:36 (ten years ago)

Yeah absolutely. I still see dudes like that every day.

polyphonic, Monday, 12 October 2015 22:56 (ten years ago)

My favorite little phrase in there is "newer-style movies"

I had to pause the tv I was laughing so hard. "Real Hip Hope!"

dan selzer, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 01:33 (ten years ago)

That was the best bit of the episode by leaps and bounds. Killed me.

you too could be called a 'Star' by the Compliance Unit (jim in glasgow), Tuesday, 13 October 2015 01:38 (ten years ago)

Store-bought flooooows

Why because she True and Interesting (President Keyes), Tuesday, 13 October 2015 11:11 (ten years ago)

he delivers all his lines with these unnatural stock inflections

i'm not a huge mooney fan, but i suspect that this is his way of amusing himself during sketches where he doesn't have much to do/are boring

wizzz! (amateurist), Tuesday, 13 October 2015 12:58 (ten years ago)

schwantz, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 22:35 (ten years ago)

election years bring out the worst in SNL

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 22:47 (ten years ago)

It will either be brilliant or a trainwreck.

Very watchable in either case, I reckon.

austinato (Austin), Tuesday, 13 October 2015 23:24 (ten years ago)

Maybe it will be, but I don't be watching. Fuck Trump and anything that elevates (or sustains) his profile.

Johnny Fever, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 23:26 (ten years ago)

^^^

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 23:33 (ten years ago)

SNL's long past the point of having any kind of political perspective or agenda, at this point when they have politicians on it's just two gross camps of attention whores exploiting each other

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 13 October 2015 23:35 (ten years ago)

so they embrace the inevitable w/ LD as Bernie, and nobody watched huh

skateboards are the new combover (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 18 October 2015 13:14 (ten years ago)

He was probably the high point.

At least I'll have "Rocket! I'm flying on a rocket!" going through my head for another ten years.

si monvmentvm reqvires, pvmpkin spice (GOTT PUNCH II HAWKWINDZ), Sunday, 18 October 2015 13:22 (ten years ago)

well, no shit, Tracy Morgan is about as funny as a car crash

skateboards are the new combover (Dr Morbius), Sunday, 18 October 2015 13:26 (ten years ago)

whoever this dude is who played anderson cooper was really, really bad and offensive
