Well that was always the point of the book from the 80s on, where they just took a bunch of obscure DC C- and D-grade villains and thru them into this unit. Somebody usually always got capped on each mission.

Am I wrong in thinking that this whole project is basically hinging on the presence of the Joker (which people have already been clowning, pun very much intended) and Will Smith's questionable present-day pull at the box office? Is there another element I'm not considering that could possibly save it from being a disaster?

and yes, many a nerdlinger knows about harley quinn and jason todd, but if the idea is to compete with the avengers you really don't want to settle for "the nerds already know this"

i'd almost be relieved to hear a marketing research study revealed a large untapped audience of juggalos across the planet dissatisfied with marvel's populism and lack of badass. if that wasn't also a horrifying prospect.

The character was portrayed by actress Mia Sara (replacing Sherilyn Fenn from an unaired pilot episode). The show aired only 13 episodes. In this show, she is portrayed as an older, far more calculating and sinister character than her bubbly comic and cartoon personas. Picking up where the Joker had left off, Harleen Quinzel used her day job as a therapist to achieve her savage purpose – to take control of the city of New Gotham. She does not wear a costume, although she does wear an outfit that is reminiscent of her cartoon costume in the series finale "Devil's Eyes." the point is that if you're going to introduce a very different batverse to a global audience a couple years after Nolan's, you might not want to smuggle it in mid-story inside a superman and a suicide squad movie, even if many a thirtysomething has sweet afternoon memories of her

eh, you're overthinking it. 90% of the audience will be like "oh, the joker's girlfriend, okay" and then "BEWBS!"

you're probably correct, in terms of 90% of the audience that will be pulled in by the promotional materials for this movie. just not in terms of 90% of the potential audience for a superhero movie.
