Balon died last season, did he not?

Mistah FAAB (sarahell), Monday, 4 May 2015 17:11 (eleven years ago)

balon greyjoy is still alive afaik, i would also be really surprised if we never saw the other greyjoys again

slothroprhymes, Monday, 4 May 2015 17:17 (eleven years ago)

xp absolutely, by the third episode of the first season budget meetings are happening!

makes me think of my favorite tyrion line about money when tywin names him master of coin: "a lifetime of enormous wealth doesn't mean i've had success managing it!

Brynden Tully whereabouts is the least excusable loose end imo

Evan, Monday, 4 May 2015 17:24 (eleven years ago)

Tyrion singing through the gag was hilarious. His best moment of the series so far.

Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:15 (eleven years ago)

I don't have the faintest clue how many Harpy people there are. I mean, did they just kill the majority of them?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:17 (eleven years ago)

I wonder how many days it takes each cast member to shoot all of their scenes in a season. Like a week? Each actor probably has about 20 minutes of screen time total each year.

Darin, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:18 (eleven years ago)

Jaime and Bronn's task seems more impossible than it did before, I thought they were going to go openly and talk. It's a bit too crazy.

I'm really anxious about Varys. How is the poor guy coping with this?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:22 (eleven years ago)

I hope they cut to him knocking on a bathroom stall door back at the brothel "you almost done, buddy? you alright?"

Evan, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:33 (eleven years ago)

a guy with varys's weight could well have digestive issues its tru

slothroprhymes, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:35 (eleven years ago)

I meant that he thought Tyrion was still pissing in one.

Evan, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:36 (eleven years ago)

I don't get how Cersei is summoning Littlefinger, and thus obviously knows where he is and what he is doing, and is therefore somehow cool with him having spirited Sansa away?

Οὖτις, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:38 (eleven years ago)

nah i don't think she knows the extent of his plans. would also not put it past baelish to ignore her summons if he thought it was necessary

slothroprhymes, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:42 (eleven years ago)

Jamie finally twigs that having a solid metal hand can be of some use in combat.

Intense episode, especially all of the swift, out-of-nowhere bad guy attacks. Though I would have expected Ser Lloras and his men to put up more of a fight.

Cersei stepping up and playing the game - using Tommon's ineffectual leadership to undermine Margery was a pretty good power play, though empowering a puritanical army to stamp out sinners is a preeetty risky strategy for her.

The Jon Snow/Melisandre scene was just weird. "I'm going to show you something", "not one of your visions", "nope" *whips out tits*

ha ha my wife fell asleep for a split second during this scene and woke up thoroughly confused.

Darin, Monday, 4 May 2015 18:59 (eleven years ago)

it's game of thrones, and boobs were exposed. seems pretty straight forward to me!

AKA Thermo Thinwall (The Cursed Return of the Dastardly Thermo Thinwall), Monday, 4 May 2015 20:15 (eleven years ago)

economy of westeros is a murder + boobs-based economy

lag∞n, Monday, 4 May 2015 22:25 (eleven years ago)

^^^^real talk

gbx, Monday, 4 May 2015 23:16 (eleven years ago)

Surely it's clear that Cersei doesn't know about Sansa?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Monday, 4 May 2015 23:56 (eleven years ago)

ya its a secret

lag∞n, Monday, 4 May 2015 23:59 (eleven years ago)

one wld think the word wld get back to her after the wedding tho

lag∞n, Monday, 4 May 2015 23:59 (eleven years ago)

My brother thought that Littefinger's involvement in the marriage deal is a secret between him and the Bolton family even if the Lannisters know his basic whereabouts. But when everyone finds out that Sands is getting married who will they think handed her over?

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 00:14 (eleven years ago)

Sorry Sansa, not Sands

Robert Adam Gilmour, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 00:15 (eleven years ago)

where does cersei think sansa is? just on the run by herself?

cis-het shitlord (Merdeyeux), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 00:19 (eleven years ago)

no he didn't

lag∞n, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 00:46 (eleven years ago)

I doubt that Cersei has thought out the consequences of her actions. She is gaining control over King's Landing at the cost of the city and whatever other areas it controls. Gutting her government's top ranks means that there are fewer qualified people in control. I doubt that giving power to a guy who can't control his own followers was a good idea.

Pretty convenient that the one guard she sent to Braavos was the one on Arya's list.

poxy fülvous (abanana), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 04:52 (eleven years ago)

queen Margaery is cute

akm, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 05:09 (eleven years ago)

I thought that Cersei letting the Moral Majority tear up Littlefinger's brothels meant that she'd turned against him

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 11:14 (eleven years ago)

cersei doesn't know where lil pete is, in the episode before this bolton gave him a note that had been sent by raven to the eerie (where he's supposed to be) and had been brought to winterfell by a rider.

Roberto Spiralli, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 11:44 (eleven years ago)

This thread might be the most unwieldy one on all of ILX. God help you if you want to load all messages to refer back to anything.

Also: This show is confusing!

Your Ribs are My Ladder, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 12:55 (eleven years ago)

show all messages (8366 of them)

I wonder why we didn't do a new thread for each season

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:06 (eleven years ago)

because we still haven't answered the question in the thread's title

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:16 (eleven years ago)

however, no spoilers please, so any answers to whether the show will be for nerds or not should be posted as an image with a completely black background with your text answer that is only slightly less black on top, so that the text is only visible when you tilt your laptop screen waaaaaaaaay back

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:18 (eleven years ago)

this show is for one particular nerd, who will be revealed in the final episode when his name is pulled out of a hat and he receives a bag of dragon bones

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:19 (eleven years ago)

will this show be just for nerd?

Karl Malone, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:24 (eleven years ago)

will this show be for one lucky nerd

lag∞n, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 13:30 (eleven years ago)

The Jon Snow/Melisandre scene was just weird. "I'm going to show you something", "not one of your visions", "nope" *whips out tits*

Friend predicted this approx half a sec before it happened.

p:s nerds know (dog latin), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 16:25 (eleven years ago)

to be fair, it's not a particularly risky prediction in this show

DJP, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 16:29 (eleven years ago)

Even down to inconsistencies like how awhile back one unsullied dude got his nipple sliced off without wincing but Grey Worm howled in pain when he was stabbed.

In the books, the Unsullied were regularly dosed with some anaesthetic drink that dulled their ability to feel pain, but stopped imbibing once White Savior Lady freed them. Don't recall if the show mentioned this or not.

TBH not sure if either GW or Selmy are dead, we could just get a "Meanwhile..." cut to them recuperating next episode. (No spoilers or previews, this is pure speculation.)

Madison Dumbbarfer (Leee), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 17:26 (eleven years ago)

season has been somewhat lackluster and wander-y thus far; perhaps we're building to something?

Premise ridiculous. Who have two potato? (forksclovetofu), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 17:35 (eleven years ago)

probably not

Is It Any Wonder I'm Not the (President Keyes), Tuesday, 5 May 2015 17:46 (eleven years ago)

i think a lot of shit's about to pop off based on what happened in the last one!

slothroprhymes, Tuesday, 5 May 2015 17:46 (eleven years ago)

dany is finally at a point where she has no choice but to fully commit to one course or the other, like either dig into meereen for good or give into some concessions and get ready to gtfo (insert arg. about she's been that way since last season etc etc etc).

considering how fast the faith militant began committing hideously violent reprisals on those they deemed "sinners," no way that doesn't get 1,000x worse.
