Disappointed that there's no yellow in his costume, but the muted crimson banana clips are nice.

I'm still curious whether Will Smith will play him as Floyd Lawton or as Will Smith, but I ain't holding my breath. At this point, if the flick gets more people interested in and reading and flowing some small royalty stream to Ostrander et al for 80's Suicide Squad, it'll be good enough.

Also, movie-Harley's outfit is far less stupid than her current Nu52 get-up, at least.

Yeah, the costume/makeup design is straight-up pathetic. The Arrow/Flash stuff isn't a whole lot better, but those are television shows with television show budgets. It's noteworthy that a fan in a homemade costume who was photographed near the set was initially mistaken for Will Smith in his Deadshot duds.

the design for katana is particularly tone deaf; the late-era nu-shi "hey, she's from japan let's put a japanese flag on her face" look is all kinds of dumb

and yes, the Outsiders were pretty terrible designs all around. katana has had much better looks, tho!

They have desaturated away any possible desire to see this thing.

After she saw the pictures of Will Smith floating around, I told my girlfriend that the upcoming Suicide Squad and Flash movies have nothing to do with the shows she enjoys. Befuddlement, as predicted. Congratulations, DC and Warner Brothers!

ok i love looker's costumer there except 1. armpit chain which looks dredfully ticklish at best 2. cape is not actually symmetrical

harley quinn is paul dini's character iirc and she works best as a cartoonish gunmoll rather than what she's become via videogames and fanservice which joker but with breasts

Well that was always the point of the book from the 80s on, where they just took a bunch of obscure DC C- and D-grade villains and thru them into this unit. Somebody usually always got capped on each mission.

Am I wrong in thinking that this whole project is basically hinging on the presence of the Joker (which people have already been clowning, pun very much intended) and Will Smith's questionable present-day pull at the box office? Is there another element I'm not considering that could possibly save it from being a disaster?
