Oh god I spent a lot of time in the late 90s watching Guffman over and over again.

I thought about the tube socks and I guess maybe I thought it was more a boy thing? I remembered the first time I met my first boyfriend he was wearing a Jesus Lizard shirt, dark green khaki cargo shorts, tube socks and plain black docs and omg it was such a good look at the time.

It's funny because I read an interview with her years later where this ad came up, and I immediately flashed on it, "Oh crap, that was her." so I guess she left an impression.

Yeah, I've heard her speak of that one a couple times, but never the Everclear video. Which is surprising, because had a relatively large part in it.

She is the leader of Power Corp, a terrorist group in the post-apocalyptic New Angeles. In the game the same character is the girlfriend who gets punched in the gut and kidnapped in the first screen. Here she's supposed to be this revolutionary badass but it's more Burger King Kids Club than Mad Max. The movie is pretty exploitative. Director came from doing music videos and commercials so you can draw a line from this to Michael Bay's Transformers.

Moira Kelly wasn't bad on West Wing, Aaron Sorkin's inability to write women was bad on West Wing. She just drew the shortest of those straws and got sidelined even further when the show focused on Bartlett instead of the staff.
