no where's the post - can u post?

surm, Tuesday, 7 April 2015 15:33 (eleven years ago)

i'm into this ONE HUNDRED PERCENT CONFIDENCE kick i've been on lately -- i have spent so much of my life terrified of being seen as queer, weird, ridiculous, etc. but... I AM ALL THOSE THINGS but also realizing (i mean i've sort of known but never really internalized it) that this is the very quality that people who like me appreciate.

also just putting more energy into looking cute/not dressing like a bum/not being fearful of standing out in any way.

like, i've done all the homework you know? i've spent years and years exerting so much effort to not offend, telling myself the lie (and believing it) that i was doing it out of some feeling of obligation to "make society better" and not merely a seeking of approval coupled with a fear of being hurt or singled out. sometimes it's liberating to be... kind of a dick!

tl;dr right now i am into being looking, feeling, being MAGNIFICENT <3

it's really a life ethos. i appreciate it, very much, as an idea. you have to know what you have. to really know what you have to offer.

http://cdn.realscreen.com/wp/wp-content/uploads/2012/10/river-monsters-3D.jpg?3ccae2";An A-Z of Roguish Britons Through the Ages"

"Roguish Briton" strikes me as something of an oxymoron on the same level as "extreme angler."

does Briton mean British person?

surm, Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:03 (eleven years ago)

Donaldson who wrote the book was an interesting guy, ran thru several fortunes, probably a pig to know personally, wrote v funny spoof letters to the great and good in the guise of a retired wet fish dealer called Henry Root.

also i love River Monsters

division of bowker (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:03 (eleven years ago)

yeah Briton is the correct form of Britishes

division of bowker (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:04 (eleven years ago)

surm, Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:04 (eleven years ago)

division of bowker (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:14 (eleven years ago)

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:14 (eleven years ago)

Dainger! High Doltage (wins), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:15 (eleven years ago)

no they recently manufactured a car the size of a salamander I think it was

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:17 (eleven years ago)

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:21 (eleven years ago)

Haha

Srsly tho, car-sized salamanders. They were about once. I love that. I am obsessed with very large and very small animals.

Dainger! High Doltage (wins), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:29 (eleven years ago)

If they made a Jurassic park I would be there opening day

Dainger! High Doltage (wins), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:29 (eleven years ago)

Heck if they made a dodo park! Or elephant birds. THEY WERE REALLY BIG BIRDS MATES

Dainger! High Doltage (wins), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:30 (eleven years ago)

division of bowker (Noodle Vague), Tuesday, 7 April 2015 16:38 (eleven years ago)

q: wonder how much carefully combed-thru angst is just shortage of beer money and freedom?

possible answerhole 1: otoh, if you hadn't always spent everything on beer maybe you wd be more fulfilled and accomplished in other ways

q: srsly? seems unlikey

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 09:50 (eleven years ago)

possble answehole 2: when you've doubled down long enough on failure it really makes no sense to back out. either you reject aspiration from sound moral prinicples or this is deathbed chickening . nagl.

q: i guess whne all the gumps are done achieving the void will be with us still but o god the path is scary enough, satori really looks downhillll from everywhere. nobility of abgnetion

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 09:57 (eleven years ago)

that hurts doubly cos an attack of cramp in each thigh halfway through a school sports day 100m (still won obv) and a similarly shaped head to hanks did actually lead to me being called bump at school for a year

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:07 (eleven years ago)

fuckin phone

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:08 (eleven years ago)

possible a 1: i suspect you have always been predicated on "being somewhere else" but alkohol has usually been the nearest somewehre else

xp: pure gump chance. it's the successes i feel sorry for

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:09 (eleven years ago)

there was a guy behind me essentially acting as an NFL blocker tbh, I'm told it was quite the viewing experience

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:11 (eleven years ago)

it occurred to me this week, a propos of very little, that a lot of old guys - and by old i guess i mean my age and up at this point - that you (i) talk to in pubs have only got one mode of discourse re: politics and it is immediate radge near-threatening towards any idea that might be considerable as less than hundred percent toughness

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:15 (eleven years ago)

I think its important to get out and about away from ILX political discourse -earnest, liberal to a fault, concerned to near patronising extent, all that stuff- and into the real world for idk ten mins every month before retreating back to ILX and thanking god its there at all

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:25 (eleven years ago)

i enjoy my round the bar conversations but god i keep my mouth shut for a lot of it, not from fear so much as the sake of my ears. the weirdness of it is, these lads are usually comfortable in their skins and lives but convinced that some foreign communist of a sexually ambiguous persuasion is gonna snatch it all away at the first sign of weakness

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:31 (eleven years ago)

actually i think what i fist noticed and what is most fun is its the same spittle-radge vehemence even when they're agreeing with you about some small beans roadworks

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:32 (eleven years ago)

all political violence is local

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:50 (eleven years ago)

gd wish i was there

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:54 (eleven years ago)

what's the coffee like at ur local

post you had fecund thoughts about (darraghmac), Saturday, 18 April 2015 10:58 (eleven years ago)

i'd imagine it's adequate but as i intimated tbh this is a dilemma of financial rather than mental/physical health dimensions

i dunno i don't care if i had enough to just wobble my way down the rest of the rd i wd gladly take it right now, peace that passeth any standing

Noodle Vague, Saturday, 18 April 2015 11:08 (eleven years ago)

it gets wearing scraping the money together for enough to drink often enough, shit got so expensive
