oh I hope they spend a lot of time on relationships between the characters. that was always the funniest part of the show

I don't mean things like Troy and Britta or Jeff and Annie, I mean like when Jeff and Shirley would wander off and start bitching about the rest of the group, or the rivalry between Britta and Shirley, or y'know Troy and Abed doing anything. You got to know how different pairings of characters would react to a situation, things that made it a believable group dynamic and also acted in the service of the comedy. Seems pretty obvious that Harmon put a lot of effort into defining all that early on before taking the series off-piste.

This last episode felt like a sequence of characters just getting up and doing their own thing one after another and felt disconnected and disjointed and not very funny as a result. Britta's drunk and wearing someone else's pants? That's the joke?

yeah this was a pretty good

I enjoyed 3 and 4 quite a bit actually.

It's been getting dramatically better starting with ep 3. Ep 5 the best so far; loved Chang's line about, "I was their Spanish teacher; then they couldn't figure out anything interesting to do with me" or something.

"jesus WEPT" had me in tears. Enjoyed first few Eps. But I really don't care about any of these characters anymore, they're just ciphers for the next joke.

yeah this is in some ways more like watching a well-rehearsed improv troupe than, like, a show about humans at this point

the last episode with the email leaks was a little better on that front

I have had zero inclination to go back to this show after the first two episodes

I watched the third, didn't think it was measurably better than the first two, have thrown in the towel.

this was always a show that I wanted to end after Season 3 or so because I wanted it to go out on top. Quality over quantity. bleh.

gonna check this out now. i'm pretty annoyed that Yahoo hasn't put any ads for this show on Community, considering it might actually appeal to Community viewers more than the show they do run ads for constantly, Sin City Saints starring Tom Arnold.

Watched the first half or so of Other Space this weekend. it's cute, very MST3K (obviously), like a very low budget live action version of Futurama at points. Not amazing, but fun enough and it's some good potential. Really like the whole cast.

yeah i watched the first two eps of Other Space over the weekend, they were very fun!

weird to think that joel shows up in two shows I'm watching now (steven universe being the other).

car scene with the child cybercrime expert made it worth sitting through about 40 minutes of not very funny community.

after being entertained but utterly uninvested this most recent episode is the first i've really liked, and the first where it's felt there's been any kind of real group dynamic to latch on to

i mostly enjoyed this completely ridiculous episode abt the movie despite myself

-there is totes some really great Community moments this season; things we would of normally quoted a lot more by now

Steven Universe has moved to the top rank in my Cartoon Network lineup. so much respect for that show
It's a little late now and also unrelated but since 'Over The Garden Wall' only got mentioned once in another thread, I'll go ahead here and back up the sentiment that it is one of the best things CN has ever produced.

Haven't been feeling this season much at all but I really enjoyed the giant hand one. The scene with the couple at the end was incredible.

Disliked the Star Wars one a lot, it felt very Season 4 in its combination of being underwritten and also trying too hard.

I watched a bunch of SNL videos today that were supposedly the best of this season. Every time one of the videos ended, the newest episode of Community began to autoplay in the video player. I guess that's one way to get people to watch this garbage!

Has any critic who used to vocally ride for this show come out and said "I was wrong; this show sucks" yet? Feels like even most of its biggest proponents washed their hands of it long ago, but it would be really satisfying to hear just one admit it's always been gimmicky garbage

I realized the other day that I missed maybe 3-4 episodes of this season. Watched one last night (something about an RV and a giant hand), and it was ok (better than anything in S4, not as good as S5), but aggressively reinforced how much Shirley and Troy are needed. It really just made me want to watch a S1-S3 episode.

this yahoo season is not amazing (at least not so far - i'm up to ep 7) but it turns out that i can enjoy watching anything that has cpt david anderson in it

The wedding episode was terrible, but it had O-Lan Jones as Garrett's mom! And this season's paintball episode was pretty solid.
