Do you think the Nerve "ads" are but an extension of the sort of presentation one gives when meeting a stranger at, say, a bar; or is it another thing altogether?

Okay, I've done one - martinsk, imaginatively (I'm on a few other dating sites with the same name). I'm slightly embarrassed to admit to it, as I'm obviously writing to try to present myself in a particular way, and not the way I'd try to appear on ILX (which I think is pretty like real-life me, but others here can judge that better).

So I did a quick search, and the first woman that came up chose the same favourite sex scene as me (Don't Look Now), so I was going to write to her (what more do you need for the perfect relationship?) but that costs money. So can anyone tell me if it's worth paying here? It's obvious on some sites that there are loads of ancient profiles where you'll get no response, so has anyone tried spending money here?

everybody should be getting more dates now! seriously, ilxor's are smart and sexy and seeking same! I need to make mine more clever now.

also Melissa, you need to update your ad often. You should go in once a week or so and just switch a word or two around and then update it. That way you get matched more often. and you might want to change your area to closer to Chicago propah.

also, I don't think online personals are pathetic at all. There are an extraordinary number of attractive intelligent people on nerve/salon/onion - and it's a great filtering system.

Oh all right. I wasn't gonna post my name but it's "syrrendermynci" -- and I'm gonna change the Merzbox reference because it's a joke, it's misleading (haha I've never heard the Merzbox!!), and I've already gotten two responses from experi-mentalist noyzeboi pigfuxors and that's two more e-m.n.p.'s than I care to date. And my Verlaine/Dayne answer is (almost) completely genuine -- if someone doesn't step up to praise Long Island's own Miz Leslie Wunderman I think I shall cry!!
