i like comedy its funny i just dont want to go behind the scenes, i feel that way abt art/entertainment in general tho, but especially comedy

People who work in comedy are kind of unique in that they enjoy discussing the thing they've chosen as a career, often with people who also do comedy, which I know is difficult to understand since that's not a thing people in other fields ever do.

um no mr sarcasm the thing thats hard to understand is why you like hearing them discuss it

I'm sure there are podcasts of geologists discussing geology with other geologists and geology is cool and all but I'm not really interested in that discussion and I'm able to avoid engaging with it and making a big deal about how I don't like it. Except I guess I just did, mea culpa geology fans.

i read the original beef. why was gawker reporting on which nbc writers' scripts tested poorly with audiences? i would be annoyed too if someone, based on stray bits of information from random sources, decided to publicly investigate my job performance

test audience results (as opposed to reviews or ratings) are just kind of a pointless metric, a fair amount of good movies have tested poorly w/ focus groups and shit and plenty of bad movies have tested fairly well

so if the original intent of the piece was to zing him & others it's just a weak barometer of quality I guess
